I use the buttons on Stereo Headset adapter to be 100% to chat volume and 0% to game volume. This lets the good PX5 transmitter come through, but still use chat through the cable.

You have the option of ignoring the transmitter and just doing stereo sound if you prefer though....I'm sticking with the optical. If I go stereo I'll just use a old Razer PC headset I have that I plug into the Adapter.

I had to look up the directions on the headset adapter to figure out how they did the audio. Basically you have volume up/down and balance up/down. Basically it's balance between game/chat, so just mess with that and eventually game sound will go off.

Is your xbox also hooked to a receiver?

Refurbished P5X on woot again. Hmm.

MS makes their own stereo headset and I've heard good things about the TB XO series which all come with the chat adapter. Polk also makes a stereo headset for the XB1 but I haven't heard much about it.
EDIT: I did say any optical input headset would work and that's true for game audio but there are a couple Tritton headsets that don't work with the chat adapter.

Mine's not, I'm just using HDMI to my soundbar and sending optical out to the PX5. If your receiver has Optical Out then that'd be a pretty simple option, but I don't think many (if any) offer that. I forget exactly what I did when I had a receiver at my old place.

A note on 1st Gen PX5, it operates on similar spectrums as other stuff (2.5 GHZ, not sure), so occasionally my audio will break up and then return immediately, sounds like a crackle. Minorly annoying, but I can deal with it....just mentioning to you. The newer PX5 uses Wifi type communication of some sort that helps limit anything like this.

              Re: Gaming headsets

I just picked up the XP510's at Best Buy. It was between them and the A40s. I currently the PX5s, but the interference is so bad that it's unbearable. Static, long pauses without audio. Just not fun anymore.

I had the A40s a month ago, but the mic sounded terrible on the PS4. After I updated the firmware, it sounded the same and it added an annoying buzz coming from them every time the system started. It would go away if you cycled through the presets. I figured I had a defective unit and sent them back. They didn't have anymore in the store so I just got a refund.

Fast forward a few months, I'm back in the same spot. I was seriously considering picking up the A40s again for $250, but then walked over to the Turtle Beach section and noticed that the XP510s were on clearance for $133 (Reg $299; $199 on sale). At that price, I had to at least give them a shot.

I just hooked them up tonight, but so far so good.

I've been considering getting the A40's but that doesn't exactly inspire confidence. I've got the PX5's to and don't really have much issue with interference or really need a headset but I just really like the way the A40s and look and I'm tired of swapping out batteries. Think I'm becoming an equipment whore. lol

That's how I got my PX5's to, found them on the clearance table in WalMart a couple years ago.

Alright so it appears I made a huge mistake. I used the X11s on Xbox 360. I just bought the XO Sevens for my One. The huge problem is I can't hear my own voice through the headset while I am in party chat like I could in the 11s, so it is very weird trying to talk. Is there any good quality headsets out that transfer your voic in to the headset?

So I have the PX21's that work pretty well on my PS4 and I can use them on my 360 as well, which is nice. On my PS4 they obviously aren't as good as they are on the 360. There's currently a Groupon for the Sony Gold headset and they're on sale for $80. Worth the upgrade knowing I'm probably done with my 360 (at least when my gold runs out next week)

                    eh, I pulled the trigger.

Decided to invest in a good set of headphones with surround sound tonight, wanted to get a pair I could use on PC, PS4, and Xbone and with the adapter from Sennheiser (also requires Xbone headset adapter but I already had it) these will do the trick.

I recently got the sony gold headset and it sounds pretty good especially for the price. I just wish they had more punchy bass. Thinking if it's even worth spending $300 for the Astros A50....

I bout the XO Four's, which are the exact same as the Seven's only less comfortable.

IN case anyone is wondering, the XO Four's are really good imo, but they hurt the top of my head after a while since there isn't enough padding (the Seven's have some memory foam there)

The only time I used the mic was on skype and it worked well. I may just plug in one of my other non-gaming headsets that are more comfortable and see what happens, but if I like that option just as much, then I pretty much wasted my money and should have just bought a headset adapter.

The reason I don't use the mic is since I'm on x1 and only play with randoms for bf4
