Brandom, I don't think there is a option on the 360 to just have the audio just come out of the headphones.

Am going to stick with these that I bought. I found out that I can use them on PS3 as well. I love the dolby digital 5.1 sounds

          COD sounds amazing.

They do with the HDMI AV cord. But I want it to happen with HDMI and I'm guessing I need to the audio adapter I posted.

Yes you need that audio adapter. It is cheap on Amazon or Ebay. Like 5 dollars maybe

Slim 360 already has a built in optical so that is not needed but older models do need that

I found the audio adapter today for $8. Works like it supposed to.

I know have sound just coming through my headphones. With the TV sound at 0.

I returned my set today to BB and got the X41 wireless. I got it cheaper then the advertised $200. They price matched for $160 so I am happy.

Love this set. Hate that I am going to have to buy rechargeable batteries. But the fact that it is wireless is amazing and the sound is much crisper and define then the one I returned DX11

Went ahead and went to Best Buy to pick up The Turtle Beach The Ear Force PX21headset. I could have bought it for $14 less on Amazon but I had Best Buy gift cards to use. I played some Medal of Honor last night online with my brother. All I can is wow I have been missing out by not having a good headset.

That is the stereo one right. Not the 5.1 dolby

I think DPX21 is the one with 5.1 Dolby

Yes, he has the stereo headset, but can add a DSS 5.1/7.1 surround amp.

I went ahead and tried the DPX21 and the DSX11 and the X41

I returned the first 2 and kept the x41 which is excellent and the sound with the bigger speakers make a world of a difference. The affects button is just one click and you get the perfect bass affect. It makes the game sound even better.

I did not like the fact that the dpx21 and dsx11 have a bass boost knob instead of one touch button. The bass boost is terrible on the first 2 and is just hard to hear low sounds or even high sounds properly

The x41 is incredible with the wireless feature and the sound is just amazing. I did not want to pay $200 for them since the dsx11 was $130 and DPX21 is $150

I then went online and found several stores that had them for like $165 which I took to BB and they priced match it for me.

I may be tempted to pick up the Turtle Beach PX5 when it drops this spring...

Works with both PS3 and 360 for audio and chat (has bluetooth built in)...also wireless...

If I ever get something I need it to work with both PS3 and 360 for online and offline gaming...seems like everything so far is one or the other (at least for in game chatting)

Looking at two headsets. Money will matter but I think I'm going to go with the Tritton AX 720. It appears to be compatible with both ps3, 360, and pc with no additional purchase (sound processor).

I was looking at the Astro A30 but the cost to add 5.1 was too much. I did however like the design over the 720.

Can anyone vouch for the AX 720's? Are they flimsy? Will the mic break easily? Are they too big?

I want something that works with the PS3 & 360 that is moderately priced and sounds pretty good at least. Any suggestions?
