The original cable lasted a while (1-1.5yr) but i have friends who are experiencing the same problem on there headsets in a shorter time. New cable only costs 5$ so its not like its an expensive fix.
I was thinking about ordering a few replacement parts as back-ups just for the future. This is by far the best headset I have ever had and thats saying a lot for me considering I felt the Trittons AX720's were god-like.

I think what really did it for me as between these and the new GOW3 Trittons 7.1 were these were wireless. True the price was only $129 well $115 out the door due to a credit I had a BB. The sound just blew me away. No wires hanging across my floor and no popping nor hissing sound. I'm one happy [cussword] gamer lol. I will be using these even when I'm not online due to the sound it puts out.

For those who might be interested WalMart has the X41's online listed as $129 and BB price matched.

I personally didn't care for the X41's, there's a hiss you can hear which annoyed me.

I liked the PX5's more but they kept cutting out every few minutes, tried multiple locations for the receiver unit and still had the issue.

Waiting on the Tritton Warheads, and hoping they are the end all be all.

A hiss would definitely bother me. If it's bad enough I'll just return them.

The hissing that a lot of people have talked about was a concern for me before my purchase. Guess I lucked out. Not one single issue

i still have the old 19.99 headset with the xbox. had it for more than 4 years and still no problem. i want TB but no reason in spending 100 dollars for a headset if i have one that still works. are the 49.99 tB junk? or just as good as the wireless ones. o and now they have the X12 and not X11 here at walmart, it just has a bass switch added

I get the PX5 cutting out once in a while, but it's not every couple minutes thankfully....I do know what you're talking about though. For me it's ignorable, but if it happened a lot I'd probably get annoyed.

Trust me, I was expecting to hear the hissing sound or other known issues but at this point it all has been positive. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Well mine definitely have hissing when there is no sound. It's really annoying too. I have a hard time believing 50% of the headsets they make have this and it's just random. Not sure I can put up with it. I'll keep them for a bit and try to decide.

any headset that uses a usb connection will have some hiss. just the nature of it from what I read. Doesn't bother me but each person is different.

Yea the Hiss is there on the x41 but only when no audio is coming in. It does not bother me but I can see how others might.

When there is game volume coming in, the x41 are outstanding and to me better then the PX5 which have presets and some lack bass even though it states it is used for adding bass. I prefer to add my own without having to use a usb to pc to download when I have a mac.

The x41 has the bass bost button and it sounds amazing.

I like the features better on the px5 with BT but I prefer the sound of the x41

Any ps3 gamers try sony's ps3 7.1 set? I am considering these for the new batman game when the family is asleep.

Mine is finally going out after 4.5 years. I am the only person I know who hasn't broken 3-4 of them. I'm not sure what's wrong with it. I can have it on mute, but people can still hear crackling.

Amazon is offering a $10 discount on the Turtle Beach Ear Force Modern Warfare 3 edition sets coming in 2 weeks.

They have the pre sets installed from the makers of MW3 to use which I think is incredible

The head sets are $299.99 which are very pricey but have blue tooth chat for both ps3 and 360 making them full blown wireless.

To get the $10 discount you must pre order modern warfare 3 regular edition and the credit is given to you right away since the head sets come out in 2 weeks

I have about $120 credit with Amazon so I might splurge
