    Re: Gaming headsets

Picked up the Tritton 7.1 Warfighters, what sold me on these instead of the A50's was the wire on the A50s for chat (XBL). The Trittons are true wireless and its awesome to not have any wires to your headset.

Only have had them for two nights and so far so good.

It worked for me. What exactly isn't working for you? As long as your headset battery is charged up, it should work.

                  Re: Gaming headsets

Let me preface this by saying that I have a decent headset. A 2 year old pair of Tritton AX 720. However, I'm not happy with the sound. I feel like I should be hearing things better.

So I have frequented this forum and done a lot of research on headsets in the last month.

I was going to go with the Astro A40 or A50, but it seemed like it was a 50/50 chance of getting one that wasn't defective. So, I bought the Turtle Beach EF Tango, special BLOPS II edition. After reading the reviews and doing a little research, I'm glad I did. They are amazing. I'm not a big fan of the BLOPs decals all over them, but that is minor compared to the overall quality of the set. I got them on sale for $199.99.

If you are looking for a good headset, I recommend the EF Tango.

They are re-badged XP 500s, which are TBs' top of the line model. I got the 500s a few weeks back from the Woot deal and have been very happy with them.

Yup, and the X-rays (what I have) are re-badged XP 400s, albeit with nicer, leather ear cups, and a better looking mic. Fantastic headset.

Picked myself up an Afterglow Universal Headset.

I'm loving it, and it's by far the best headset I've ever owned.

Also, the Tango has one very significant advantage over the XP 500.... It's rechargeable. The 500 still uses AA batteries.

I was just gonna ask about these. Are they digital or just amplified stereo.

I only had 100 max so the original $99 Sony headsets work great for me. The only drawback is I can't control mic volume, but people say they can hear me so its all I really care about besides being able to keep the house quiet with my daily late night gaming

The specs say that they're Digital.

There's apparently three different settings, Pure Audio, Bass Boost and "Immersive" Audio.

All the bull**** tech talk aside, they were definitely worth the money IMO. Great sound, great mic quality.
