    Re: Gaming headsets

I have the Turtle Beach Ear Force Delta's which have a Modern Warfare 3 theme. These are also the same as the XP500's I believe. They are wireless for both systems (has an attachable puck that goes into the bottom of your 360 controller, no wires at all). Very happy with these.

Also recently got the Sony Elite headset, very happy with these too, got tired of switching out the wires when I wanted to switch systems, plus they looked pretty cool, AND they work with the Vita which is neat with the little wire they include. I don't know if my Delta's would work with the Vita with the same wire, I haven't tried it.

The pulse elites have a vibration/rumble bass feature which I keep on the lowest of settings just to get the effect, to have it on the higher setting is kind of ridiculous after a few minutes if there's a lot of bass going on. It's pretty strong, like having a vibrating massage thingy on your head.

Thanks man. One other question if you don't mind. I bought the Turtle Beach X12's and I couldn't use them because I don't have an audio out jack on my tv.

Do these require that or is it just through usb?

I was worried whenever I opened the box and I seen a USB-to-Audio Jack connector because the TV I'm on didn't have an Audio Jack.

The Audio Jack part comes off and turns into a Composite Cables (Red and White).

They are not the same. The Tango has 5.2 ghz for none interference and also does not require batteries.

It also includes the new DSS audio module. The ear cups have a pleather material which reduces sweat and heat that the xp500 or the deltas have.

              Re: Gaming headsets

I have tired all the headsets from the x41 to the xp400 and px5 and deltas and xp500 and the tangos from Turtle beach.

They provide the best features of any set specially the high end ones but the audio quality goes to the astros.

I tried the a50 wireless astros for the first time ever for any astro headset and the sound was incredible but it lacked the features of the tango.

I returned the a50 because I wanted to get the a40 2013 edition which is wired but they sound amazing with the new fixes to bass and the fact that I can use it for my pc is a huge bonus along with my smart phone.

a40 2013 edition to me in terms of audio quality is king.

                Guess what I have?........

                Turtle Beach XP Seven's.

I'll get my review of them out soon. They aren't available for another couple weeks.

Edit: I've had them since yesterday, and out of the box they look great. For a wired headset, it is extremely easy to conceal wires, considering they give you a ton of wiring. I actually have mine ran through my room so none of it is showing. Sound wise, this set is on par with the Astro A40's and A50's. It easily beats any TB I've owned and if you like wired, it's a great buy. Features, design, comfort, and performance wise there really isn't a flaw I've noticed yet. Also, being able to use it for music is really nice, considering the sound quality is very good.

Music on the Seven's is also pretty impressive. The mic can be taken out so it's basically a music headset and has noice cancellation. The sound quality is up there for music, and I've heard some pretty solid Sennheisers.

Would you choose tb x42's or Sony pulse?

Edit: I saw the X42s aren't compatible with the PS3. I'm looking at the XP 400s now. I'm not sure what to do. Gotta cut the price off at some point lol.

I also got the Sevens from Best Buy...They had only one in stock so not sure they all sold out or they just got one or two headsets.

I have the A50 as well and just put them up on Craiglist. The New Seven from TB are fantastic because they are great build and they give you a cord for every function like phone, pc, mac, anything you want to use the headphones for. Removable mic so you can rock these when out listening to music from your ipod or smartphone.

The sound is incredible as well. I love that you can modify the volume for each individual virtual 5.1 speaker.

Any interference problems with the pulse elite since it only uses 2.4ghz?

They were ok until I tried the Pulse headset, the A40s and now the Sevens.

There's absolutely no justifying $280 for a pair of gaming headsets.

Says who? that is far from the truth. The afterglow is average headphones for gaming. It is not comparable to what you get wit the high price one. Because you do not agree on the price does not mean they are not worth it.
