On Animal Crossing? If it works like the previous two games your town has a front gate. You open your gates which allows visitors to visit your town, or they have to open their gates for you to go there. If it is like the past, you just need the online player's friend code, name, and town in order to visit them, you don't actually have to be friends with them on the 3DS. Once you are in someone's town you can talk to them, interact with all their neighbors, buy stuff from their stores, etc. You can give each other items to take back.

So one of the first things you want to do with the game is go to another person's town and get their native fruit to plant back in your town. Each town has a native fruit that grows, like pears, so you have to go to another town to get a foreign fruit, like oranges, to plant in your town so that you can grow that fruit from then on in your town (and sell it for more money).

Also, sometimes somebody will have a cool item that they will drop in your town and then once you pick it up (and then give it back if you are nice), you can order that same item from your local store. That's called cataloging.

Sometimes you can go into someones town that has changed their system date, so it is another time of year which means different bugs and fish (time traveling). Some people don't like that and consider it cheating to change the date, I think you do whatever you want to make the game fun for you. I personally don't alter my time more than 24 hours.

Then of course there is the stalk market, one of the most popular things about other towns. So the stalk market is the buying and selling of turnips. On Sundays you can buy turnips from a special character and then you have one week to sell them for either a profit or a loss at the local store before they rot. So what you do is buy turnips in your town, then visit other people's towns if their store is buying turnips back at a high price. Good way to make some money.

Can't wait to dive into AC, pre-ordered it quite a while ago.

Are there any good deals on AC anywhere? I was planning on just taking a game or two into Gamestop and trading them in (you get extra credit trading in for AC and some other stuff).

I haven't seen any preorder bonuses anywhere, are there any or no?

Project X Zone demo is up on the eShop (that crazy Capcom, Namco, and SEGA crossover action-SRPG).

It seems pretty neat. I need to play it some more though (weird that it's limited to only 5 plays). The battle system takes some time to learn. There's lots of tutorials to read besides the ones before the demo starts. I still don't fully understand it all, but I'm getting the timing down better. The sprite animations are amazing. There's so many little touches, like Ryu's uppercut into FADC Ultra. I'm just unsure how much depth there is to the strategy elements. The battles seem to the star, but as awesome as they look, I don't see them being able to carry the game throughout it's 40+ hours.

Going to buy either LM2 or Donkey Kong which will get me a free download code for AC (thank to EU promotion of register 3 get a 4th free). Any recommendations on which one I should get (DK is £10 cheaper).

I haven't played the DK game but LM2 is a great game IMO.

DK is a 3D remake of the Wii game, with 8 additional levels I think. There is an easier difficulty option for those that thought the original was too hard. Control scheme has changed a bit too since there's obviously no motion controls. Takes a little getting used to if you've played the Wii version first.

Ended up going with Luigi. Still have nightmares of the DAMN cart level in DKC from the SNES days. Couldn't risk ending up throwing my 3DS out of a train.
