    Re: Nintendo 3DS

I think I will grab this for my son. I have been wanting to get him one since last Christmas, but keep going back and forth on which one and if he will actually play it.

he is big on toys, actions figures etc... figured maybe chill on electronics while I can, but then again, I feel like he is missing out haha

Anyone have the regular-sized New 3DS that is going on sale? I'm wondering how the form factor (fit) is compared with the XL (which I love)? I'm not really too concerned with the screen size, but if my hands are going to cramp up after 10-15 min., I'll stay away.

Ideally, I'd love to pick this up so I can start buying all the SNES games on VC.

I have the Zelda reg size 3DS (Also have the 3DS XL) and ended up getting the circle pad pro. It added a RS also. Helped a lot with getting tired/cramped hands.

With that said I still can't play long with either 3DS as I have some arthritis...

So I have a New 3DS and a 2Ds, but I am thinking about giving my son the 2DS. Comes with game, charger, supposdly more study and it's cheaper. But I am not sure. Any thoughts on this?

Also anyone recommend some games for a 5 year old? It comes with Mario Kart and I got him a TMNT game. I was thinking some of the Mario Bros, Luigi Manson, Super Smash Brothers or Donkey Kong. Maybe Aniaml Crossing, but he might get bored of it. He can read some words, but something that needs a lot of reading may not be a good idea. Thanks!

2DS should be perfect for him.

I'd probably just let him get into the 2 games you're pairing with the system and then maybe down the road in a few months introduce him to something like New Super Mario Bros. 2.

Yeah, even used ones are very hard to find.

                  Re: Nintendo 3DS

Stock has been tightened up (if not recalled in some cases like the Wii U) preceding the Switch launch. Think Nintendo is going to try and make that the only option for the most part once it hits shelves.

I don't disagree with that, if they could potentially move to discontinue the entire nDS line and move their eggs into the Switch basket that'd be how you'd do it.

Think we would have seriously considered a 3DS XL if that's what the Black Friday SKUs were.

Yeah picked up one of the new 3ds that they had on sale during black Friday for my son for Christmas. And didn't realize it didn't come with a charger. Good thing we have his old xl3ds that he gave to his sister. But yeah I guess quite a few didn't catch the writing on the box about the charger not included.

I don't really want to start a new thread for this, but since this is where most of the discussion about the series ends up I figure it might as well go here even though it's not 3DS.

Anyone playing Fire Emblem Heroes? For it being a Gacha game I feel like I've done pretty well without spending a dime. I have a nice A team of 2 5* heroes and 2 4* (2 of which are series main characters), and have finished the story missions on Lunatic up to Chapter 7 or so.I also have 2 other 5* that I just recently rolled and am the process of leveling them up to make it to my A-team.

Although the combat is simplistic and smaller scale compared to the regular games, it still feels very much like Fire Emblem. The weapon and magic triangles are fully intact, certain classes of hero have good and bad matchups (bows own fliers, Falchion users destroy dragons, etc.), and each character has their own set of skills to learn.

Still surprised by the announcement of the 2DS XL yesterday. I'd rather see more New 3DS XL's made than the 2DS model. I mean, is it that hard to turn the 3D slider off?

I'm contemplating snagging a 2DS XL at release. My son has a 3DS, but he hardly plays anymore. If I get a 2DS XL, we'll be able to play some co-op and get a little more mileage out of the system. And at 149.99 with a charger, it's a pretty hard deal to pass up. All the hands-on impressions I've read have been favorable as well.

I haven't ever really played the 3DS much other than some Mario Kart, so the backlog is fairly endless for me.

Anyone else picking up a 2DS XL when it releases?

I'm strongly considering it, mostly to use for SNES VC games.
