    Re: Wii U Discussion

I love the Wii U, the exclusives, and the backwards compatibility (along with the best couch coop out there), just wish it had more power to play current gen 3rd party games and a good online connectivity and online play options. If they can bring that with the next system (plus better hardware than xb1 and ps4 if coming out 3 years or so after them), they could have a winner. Crossing my fingers.

Its more of just a 3ds with a few new features though. It is not a new system. Its like no different then when sony comes out with the slim versions. No difference when it comes to power or anything so yes the are more do more a handheld then a new console.

        Not really.

They are more likely to have a new console given the struggles than replace a handheld that is having no issues flying off the shelf.

Nintendo has to completely change their approach to consoles. They haven't tried to compete in the power and graphics department or online. That doesn't work anymore. Consoles are for the hardcore and they need to cater to them. But Nintendo is so stubborn I doubt they change. If the Wii U wasn't so weak it could have had more success. You couldn't even port ps3 or 360 games easily. The only Madden game looked significantly worse than my ps3 version. Ridiculous.

Not sure why... I just feel when I fire up the WiiU it's stress free lol.
I know people want and they need to add online but as a "Could care less about online" gamer these days it doesn't bother me.

I do feel they need to start thinking about being more powerful AND they really need to be full on online system.

Even though I have no issue with the Wii U, I agree.

More so just passing opinion to the previous poster that there is more reason for a new console than handheld but who knows really.

NintendoLand was great but why wasn't that game online? That would have been a great feature for that game! All party/friends type of games need online.

And if they had made the Wii U more powerful (at least more powerful than the PS3/360 in every department) they might have been able to keep some third party developers like EA. I would have chosen the Wii U as my sports gaming machine (for at least 1-2 years) if Madden looked a bit better along with the gamepad controller. That controller is BEST for sports games imo and yet the Wii U doesn't have any. Very few games have taken advantage of it.

I am now done with college and moving to VA with my gf. My two best friends who used to come over and play games almost every day now live in Missouri and Cali respectively. This is the reason Nintendo needs to add full online systems. Not many have the ability to play couch co-op anymore. All these great games are a shell of what they could be without online functionality.

Couch coop is cool. Centering a console around it is a silly move though. No reason to not have both options.

Nintendo 64 games will cost between $9.99 and $12.99 USD. If you already purchased a specific N64 game on Wii Virtual Console, you can upgrade to the Wii U version of that game for $2 USD. Nintendo DS games will cost between $6.99 and $9.99 USD. Both will offer support for custom control configurations, but DS games, specifically, will offer multiple dual screen setup options between the GamePad and TV. N64 games that support the Rumble Pak will receive similar functionality on the GamePad.

The latest game in the Fatal Frame series is coming to Wii U in North America later this year, Nintendo's Bill Trinen announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation today. The game, developed by Koei Tecmo, was released in Japan last year under the name Fatal Frame: Oracle of the Sodden Raven.

The new Fatal Frame will use the Wii U GamePad as a camera as players adventure, allowing them to see things in the environment they can't see otherwise.

Nintendo and Atlus re-unveield Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, its upcoming RPG for Wii U.

In Japan, the game is called Genei Ibunroku #FE and will launch in Winter 2015.

The game is set in a world where everyday life exists alongside a secret world of fantasy including characters from the Fire Emblem series.

Every course in the game will allow the 200cc class, and the free update is coming on April 23 alongside the game’s second DLC pack, which was detailed today as well.

That's my thing with 200cc. The AI on 150cc is ridiculous. It's 11-on-1. I can't imagine the carnage 200cc will leave on players.
