Yeah gamepad is amazing for that reason. Love that I can play a game while watching a baseball game or something.

Re: Wii U Discussion
I'm 0-7 in online races... Can't even place in the top 5. I guess beating up on the cpu on 50cc and 100cc isn't anything special. 150cc scares me a little, not sure if I want to even jump to 200cc anytime soon.Moderator

I believe the Pro controller gets around 40 hours of battery life on one charge. Something ridiculous like that.

Re: Wii U Discussion
200cc basically turns Mario Kart into an F1 simulator, and I don't like it one bit. Arcade racers are much more fun when you can just power slide around every corner and trick off every jump. If you try that on 200cc, even with the sports bikes that have the highest handling ratings in the game, your driver will get hauled off to the hospital about halfway through the first event.Last edited by jyoung; 05-07-2015, 09:51 PM.Comment

Re: Wii U Discussion
After reading about Splatoon more, took the dive and pre-ordered the Splatoon bundle from Best Buy.
Really want to play that game and I've been super nostalgic here lately about wanting to go back and play a bunch of VC games...
I think I'm also one of the few that is extremely hyped for Mario Maker...been dreaming about a game like that since I was a kid lol.
Just hope Zelda still eventually makes it to the Wii U and they don't hold it off until the NX hits...Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: Wii U Discussion
I'm honestly expecting a price drop to $250 or ideally $200 with just NintendoLand packed in. That would definitely get me to buy one but not at $300 especially when I have to spend $50 on the Wii U Pro Controller and a little extra money on the Ethernet USB adapter.
Nintendo thus far has the best exclusives but little to nothing else so a $100 price drop would help out the console a lot in my opinion especially when im expecting Microsoft to drop the price of Xbox One to $300 at E3 or at GamesCom.
I think Sony stays at $400 until E3 2016 when they reveal the PS4 slim and a $300 price tag. Of course, this is just my own personal opinion. Either way, I would wait until E3 before purchasing a Wii U.Comment

Re: Wii U Discussion
There's actually very little precedent for actual price drops at E3, it's mostly just been new models with added value at the same price points.
As for a Wii U price drop, I very much doubt it. Nintendo is back to making money and no longer taking a loss on Wii U hardware. If they wanted to be aggressive about pricing, they would have done it awhile ago around Mario Kart or Smash.
If you have interest in a Wii U at a cheaper price, then get a refurb through Nintendo for $200. By all accounts, their refurbs are top-notch and you get the same standard 1-year warranty as if you were buying new.

Re: Wii U Discussion
Was able to score a Deluxe Edition with both games for $100 used this past weekend. Also found a new copy of Super Smash Bros for $40 and my son loves it. I really underestimated the usefulness of the game pad. He can play his Wii U while my wife or daughter watches tv or if I'm on the Xbox One. Next on the list is Mario kart 8. That along with the other games will keep his attention while I slowly build up on all the exclusives I've been missing with Xbox.
My list so far includes Captain Toad, Donkey Kong Tropical Breeze & Zelda Wind Walker. Are there any other games that my son and I would enjoy?"This is for all of my peoples who understand and truly recognize. Some won't get it and for that i won't apologize"- Talib KweliComment

Re: Wii U Discussion
Super Mario 3D World is pretty lengthy and a lot of fun in co-op. I'd get that for sure before Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. Tropical Freeze did nothing for me. It had too many annoying collectibles, incredibly overlong boss fights, and really sluggish controls.Comment

Super Mario 3d world came with the console. I should have specified that in my original post."This is for all of my peoples who understand and truly recognize. Some won't get it and for that i won't apologize"- Talib KweliComment

Re: Wii U Discussion
WOW! I couldn't disagree more about tropical freeze. It has one of the best soundtracks in a game I have played in a long time and may just be the best platformer ever! The only bad thing game is to easy. But still a amazing game!Comment
