Re: Wii U Discussion
My ID is CarterAddison (pretty sure that's what I used - my kids names). We don't really go online much and if I am it's probably my kids so don't add me if you like to use foul language!
Edit: finally realized how to download the Rayman demo. Didn't know you had to click on details beside the game to get access to it.Last edited by rudyjuly2; 12-26-2012, 07:40 AM.Comment

Re: Wii U Discussion
I've been looking all over for this, I even posted on miiverse and only got a couple "yeahs" but no comments...
In sonic racing, local multiplayer, is there a way to NOT use the gamepad screen? I played 3-5 people, fine I'll take the gamepad screen. But a few times I was playing 2 players and it would have been nice to have split screen on the tv rather than one on tv one on pad.
I know the swipe motion to get single player on pad only, and tried the reverse for the local multiplayer, to no avail. I am guessing there is no option to do soComment

Re: Wii U Discussion
Finally life has calmed down a bit and back to some normal routines.
Downloading Rayman and Sonic racing demos now. Going to pick up a new game today and have no clue what to grab. So many games I've never played this year...Joshua:

Re: Wii U Discussion
The Wii U was huge hit in my house!
The downloads and updates took a long time for me and that didn't create the best first impression. After we got started though it was the best gaming experience I've had with my kids.
Mario U- Great graphics and gameplay. The co op works great and it had my son jumping up and down each time I made a block stair case for him to jump on the top of the flag.
Zombie U- grossly underrated. I had a tention filled first hour with Zombie U and it reminded me Condemned. A few gripes aside I don't see how this game scored lower than an 8.
Nintendoland- Small doses of fun that didn't keep my sons attention like Mario. Good but nothing outstanding so far.Last edited by WildFan22; 12-27-2012, 01:11 PM.Comment

I am pretty sure there is no way to just play split screen. I looked around for it for a long time too to no avail.
At this point I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to get a second user logged in so it's not ODogg vs. ODogg(1)...Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Wii U Discussion
I will disagree about Super Mario's graphics being good or even average. Mario looks the same as it did 20 years ago. The only difference is the graphics are crisper on an HD screen. There is no added detail to the characters, backgrounds or music. At some point they have to consider truly upgrading all of the visuals along with the audio. At least provide some nice looking backgrounds or textures. While it's certainly a fun game for the family it still maintains an 8-bit feeling.Comment

The graphics are great, familiar, sharp, an eye pleasing look with great colors.
I don't know how you can make a 2D Side Scroller Look better unless you want a 3D effect. If you want that, get a 3DS and play Sonic Gens and NSMB2.Xbox 360 Rosters:

Re: Wii U Discussion
I stand by my Mario comments. It's a 2D platformer but so is Rayman. Look at how good the backgrounds and environment look in Rayman. Those are good graphics on a simple 2D platformer. Mario doesn't have any of that. EVERYTHING is super simple and there are no details worth mentioning from a graphical standpoint.
It's fine if you guys like the classic Mario or retro look but there is nothing amazing about what Mario pushes out graphically. I can only guess it would require the least amount of horsepower of any Wii U game out there. That doesn't mean the game isn't fun. My kids love it. These are two different things. But for a game to be called good graphically (quite a few of you have and maybe taking this too personally) I would think it would actually have to have some difficulty in making it look good. I don't see it.Comment
