Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
Where did I say it was fact?
Don't be so silly. Obviously most things that people post when it comes to something SUBJECTIVE is opinion.
Sorry, your average 360 gamer is not going to put down his Halo or BLOPS to pick up Mincecraft... and that is my strong opinion.Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 04-29-2011, 05:58 PM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
Here is the problem with a new Nintendo Console that is more Powerful than the Current gen consoles and less powerful than the future consoles, What developer is going to make games for the guy in the middle? This has always been Nintendo's downfall over the past decade, they create these systems that are better than the current gen but is quickly replaced after only a year or two.
The Developers are going to make the games for consoles that people have or develop games for future consoles what people will eventually own. As soon as Nintendo launches their new console, Microsoft and Sony will unveil their console that will make Nintendo's seem like a waste of money.
Nintendo is like a 15 year old boy with a really hot girl, they prematurely rush it.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
For those who say the 3Ds is the fastest selling electronic, I've heard that the sales have slowed tremendously compared to the DS Lite. It is still selling but it isn't getting scooped up as much due to the fact that it is not supported by a solid game lineup. That's the problem that the Wii had when it came out of the gate. Nintendo has the problem of not knowing how to make a console sexy enough for solid games to be made for it consistently. They are innovative but are still stuck in their ways which can truly end up being their downfall.
One thing that I am going to point out is the fact that if this console is competing with the next installments that Microsoft and Sony have to offer, then they will definitely have a larger install base. However, I'm sure that Microsoft and Sony will bring the mindset that this console is not better than theirs which already has an established base. The screen is a great addition which is something I thought Microsoft would have thought about putting into this 360 console. However, it is still a gimmick if it doesn't bring about great games and things. If it's only has ports of other games, then why would someone who owns a PS3 or 360 want to buy a Nintendo Wii Wii??
Did they establish a solid online component worth mentioning? I can't see this ending up well except that we can get a lot of updated backlogs of Nintendo treasures that we've been longing for since HD has been the norm. Will they have an achievement/trophy foundation for the games on day one also? What will this console bring to the table while only showing a little more power than what is out there already? If it's more powerful, does that mean they are considering putting a Blu-ray player inside of this console or are they sticking with the tried and true DVD format?
The plate has more compartments that need to be met in order to have a system that is appealing. It's just not the same now and Nintendo need to realize that before they ruin their chances. I'm looking forward to what they will be bringing.Comment

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
This new thing won't have a hard drive. Rather it will have 8GB of flash memory.
I guess it's a cost-cutting decision, but 8GB of storage doesn't even approach what the launch XBOX360 and PS3 had.
That said, apparently their new disc format (proprietary? Blu-Ray? isn't clear in the article) will have a 25GB capacity, so there's that.Comment

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
lol at the possibility of my phone having a bigger hard drive than Nintendo's new console. I don't understand how they expect to compete with Microsoft and Sony in the minds of people who aren't grandma's playing video games if they have no hard drive space.Last edited by jmood88; 05-03-2011, 02:14 PM.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
I don't understand how some will say the Wii is/was a gimmick and that parents are blind in getting their kids the console.
We are talking about Nintendo here. The same company that is introducing gaming to kids these days introduced it to kids in the 80's, and they did a great job of it. Our Wii was given to us. I never intended on getting one, but my sons love getting on it and messing around. My oldest is 7 and he prefers the Xbox but still, he enjoys Mario Kart etc.
There are tons of kids still enjoying the Wii. What's so odd about that? How is the Wii's success any different than other consoles that had success?Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment
