Re: Wii U Discussion
New Super Mario Bros. U changes that pattern. Though it doesn’t necessarily redefine Nintendo’s iconic hero, it still manages to capture the sense of carefree adventure that many of us felt as kids. More importantly, the game contains a significant amount of challenge, both within its story mode and outside of it. This game has clearly been designed by a team that regards Super Mario World with as much affection as those of us who grew up with it. Were it not for the game’s weak graphics and audio, plus the return of the irritating chaotic, bouncy multiplayer mode, this game might rival some of Nintendo’s better 2D accomplishments. -

Re: Wii U Discussion
For me personally I am pretty much done with PS3 other than The Show each year and the games I already have. Just don't want to support 3 systems lol
When game details come out I'll see what, if any, differences in controls and added functions are due to the WiiU gamepad then go from there.
I rarely play online any longer except for Madden league so even that has no bearing for me.
In any case the WiiU is mainly for Nintendo games.Joshua:

Games like the upcoming Aliens are going to make me have to decide between a system that I will be replacing as soon as new fall or one that will be around for 5 years. If I played Fifa it would be hard to pass up being able to play on the controller screen since the xbox version doesn't have that ability.
I'm not worried about it but I'm starting to realize that I have decisions to make for the next year.Comment

Re: Wii U Discussion
I'm probably going to be replacing my xbox and ps3 soon with the new systems when they release. Maybe it will start to make more sense to buy Wii U titles because that system will still be hooked up 2 years from now.

Since Nintendo has seemingly went back to a traditional control scheme I'll certainly have their system as I miss my Nintendo games. So the only decision is XBOX720 or PS4.Joshua:

Re: Wii U Discussion
If the game has cool controls on the game pad I'll buy it on the WiiU. It's mainly for Nintendo games but I'll probably buy stuff like the Aliens game on WiiU for the map functionality.
I'll probably buy most of the stuff on WiiU going forward unless there's a real compelling reason to buy it on 360...Comment

Re: Wii U Discussion
Ok all paid off:
Deluxe
Sing Party
NSMBU
Zombiu
Scribblenauts (I have it)
Now my issue. I have 2 SMB games on the 3DS and and wondering if I should swap the NSMBU for Batman or COD or use the $ towards a wiimote.... Lol but man I love Mario games...
Also need to grab a wiimote for when me and my daughter want to play some Nintendand (especially Luigi Mansion)Last edited by Skyboxer; 11-16-2012, 03:58 PM.Joshua:

I'm with Skuboxer... my gaming time is very limited these days. I plan on just running with the modded Wii and then my HD gaming will be the Wii U.
I just still have to pick up another AV cable (my DLP doesn't have HDMI) and possibly it's own dedicated Wiimote and nunchuck. Otherwise, I'm ready to go for Sunday.
Looking forward to possibly getting some online Black Ops 2 with some OSers on the new console.

Re: Wii U Discussion
360is still going to be my main gaming machine for any multi-platform games as it has been since launch. Been using MS machines as my primary since the launch of the original XBOX when it took over for PS2.
My PS3 has been primarily for blu-ray since I got it early 2009 (really only played metal gear and uncharted on it.) That won't change.
Wii U that I pre-ordered - I plan on really only playing nintendo exclusives as mario kart, mario, wario ware are all great games to play with the fiance and dad/mom/sisters when I visit them over the holidays. I see one of three things happening with it -
1 - my best guess...will last a while being used for party/family type games mainly used over holidays
2 - smaller chance of happening...cool things are done with the game pad and it becomes my primary gaming machine, at least until the next xbox or ps comes out
3 - I think as the least likely, but can see it happening...is a ton of fun at the initial launch over the holiday season but end up just sitting there without much use after the initial launch/holiday season ala kinectComment

Re: Wii U Discussion
Well my daughter settled it. Basically no way we don't have the Mario game..
So just adding a screen protector and a WiiMote....that's it!Joshua:

Re: Wii U Discussion
Once I actually GET the WiiU, I'll probably use it for 1st party titles and sports games. I REALLY like the idea of using that second screen for Madden, etc.
I love my PS3, and I love trophies, but when it comes to sports games, that's one thing I never really care about. Plus, if my wife is hogging the TV, I can still play Madden on the gamepadComment
