Got my preorder text from Gamestop today, but not for NBA 2k13. Just the console and then BLOPS2. My plan for tomorrow is similar to Sky's, but just gonna check CoD with Wiimote controls. And then it's off to play Nintendoland with the wife and kids.

 Psyched for tomorrow.

 Re: Wii U Discussion

Not sure how it will all set up but lets make sure to share account names

Also I think since they are compatible I will just grab a wired Wii pro controller for 19.99 instead of wireless WiiU pro controller for 49.99
 We'll see.Joshua:

 Re: Wii U Discussion

I know I may be a bit over geeky about this but the custom routes have me pumped. Especially if there's no limits. I will probably set ground rules to start. ie. only 1 wr hot route in a 2 wr set etc..
One thing that I hope is the case is in times where the CB is playing way off on a short yardage down and being able to hot route a wr to just basically turn to QB and catch a quick hitter. Things like that.

I'm going to start off with the VITA suggested sliders of All Madden default and penalties at 53 and see how it goes.Joshua:

 Re: Wii U Discussion

Walked into Wal-Mart at 11:30 and home by 12:30 without a pre-order (though supplies were very limited, just not a big turn out). Picked up a 32gb system and pro controller to start. Will buy some games tomorrow at Toys R Us, heard they're having a good sale on them.

System will be in the closet til Christmas morning, look forward to hearing impressions from you guys.Comment

 Re: Wii U Discussion

Christmas taken care of for the kido!

Called Walmart at 6 and was told they had 8 (4 Black & 4 White). Was also told they would be sold at 12:00. I figured there would be a long line and I wasn't going to go. I read Holic's post about Walmart at 11:40 and I told the wife I was going to give it a shot. Got to Walmart at 12 and was happy to find that I was 6th in line! In fact the second guy in line got there at 11:30! Going there I thought I was going to get there and turn right around. TY Holic for you post. It made all the difference. (When I left, there were two more white ones left) I ended up with a white one, but I highly doubt my daughter will mind come Christmas morning.Comment

 Re: Wii U Discussion

Awesome man. I had 2 pre-order cards from Target for the white basic edition but just didn't feel good about them. When I checked with them yesterday evening they weren't sure if they were going to have enough consoles to cover the 5 cards they sold for each color. Can't stand Wal-Mart but last night I gotta say, they hooked me and my son up for Christmas last night.Christmas taken care of for the kido!

 Re: Wii U Discussion

Trine 2 Dev on Wii U's eShop

Devs can set prices and sales:

Free patches, DLC:"That's what we love about the new eShop," said Haveri. "We have the power to price our products as we please, with just some basic guidelines from the big guys. The step to this is purely from Nintendos's side and they clearly see that [their] previous installments have not been up to par. We can set our own pricing and actually continuing on that by setting our own sales whenever we want. It is very close to what Apple and Steam are doing at the moment, and very indie friendly."

"They have pushed away all of the old methods that have been established before," Haveri told me. "Simply put they've told us that there are no basic payments for each patch (which were pretty high on most platforms) and that we can update our game almost as much as we want. For indie developers this is huge."Noting that the 20-something Trine 2 updates through Steam have been effortless (and allowed), Haveri does expect Nintendo to be a bit more in line with Microsoft and Sony when it comes to verifying and approving patches and added content. "We expect it to be longer than what Steam has, but still very competitive compared to the current console standards." Haveri noted that while Trine 2's DLC content is included with the Wii U version of the game, Nintendo has told the developer it has the same philosophy for added content as it does patches - it's free."Nintendo's eShop has the possibility of showing the way for the future of downloadable games on consoles. Not everything is up to par, but so far it looks like a far superior channel to be a part of. We hope that companies like us realize that and more indie games become available on the Wii U eShop. In the end this is how we see the future of console gaming and hopefully we are not too far away from that reality."Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

 Re: Wii U Discussion

The day one patch is 5 GB and that takes two hours for a lot of people depending on your download speed. You might want to wait on that patch until after your first gaming session.

I think the Madden features are cool. This is what the gamepad is for. No cost patches is something devs have been wanting for awhile. Wonder if Sony or MS will follow suit.Comment
