You got a great deal on the Pro controller. I was very close to purchasing a pre-owned one this afternoon, but it's still $40. Currently, I have two wiimotes, a nun chuck, and the game pad. I'd love a regular controller for Mario 3D Land. As it stands, I'm using the wiimote and nun chuck and it works pretty well.

If you want to play MP/Co-op stuff then you'll need the pro controller or WiimotesJoshua:

Re: Wii U Discussion
I only got it for the Nintendo games as the cross platform games I'll mostly play on PC/PS3/PS4
Lately been playing Wii Party U with family as it's a very fun "party" game.
It's a nice compliment to my other gaming systems.Joshua:

Re: Wii U Discussion
Going to be joining the wiiu club xmas morning, just wondering a few things if anyone can answer:
Is there any reason to keep my wii around or does the wiiu handle everything now? Im really only concerned about wii games, never bought anything on vc or digital downloads.
Can I copy game saves from wii to wiiu or do they have to be moved? Like can I have my mario kart save on both systems?
Im guessing that if I want to transfer to the u, ill need an sd card? Any recommendations on size or type?
If I dont do the transfer right away, can I do it at a later point? In case I dont get a card tomorrow.
How painful is the initial update? Am I screwing myself by waiting til xmas morning to hook it up for the first time?
Thanks everybody!Comment

Yes you can transfer over your saves to the Wii U. I don't know exactly how but I think once you do you lose the saves on your Wii which is not a big deal. I believe it's a move and not a copy but not real sure. No real need to keep your Wii around although some older games have some audio static when I play on the Wii U. Not worth selling the Wii anyways since you won't get anything for it and you should keep your extra controllers.Comment

Re: Wii U Discussion
I picked up Madden 13 for the Wii U. My son was disappointed when I traded in my Madden 25 as I got hooked on NCAA 14. He likes playing with the Lions so I got the Wii U version for $10 off Amazon. I have to say the tablet controller would be perfect for football games in the future. Picking plays on it, audibling and doing quick hot routes for anyone on the field is easy and great. The game itself looks great (as good as the PS3 version) pre-play, post-play, intros, replays and cut scenes. But in actual gameplay the graphics clearly look worse than the PS3. The player models lose their crispness and don't look as good. The game runs at probably 30 fps as well. It's not the game killer that Pastapadre said it was and you get used to it but it clearly doesn't look as good. Still, the gamepad controls are pretty sweet and $10 for a game we'll only play once in awhile is a good deal.Comment

Re: Wii U Discussion
The initial update and setup was over an hour for me last Christmas but I'm guessing a lot of the stuff is pre-installed now (there was a big patch add on last year) and it shouldn't take you too long.

Re: Wii U Discussion
I still prefer the Mario parties (well the earlier ones that is) but this is not quite the same. There are a lot of different types of games and tons of mini games to go along with them.
We had a lot of fun so far.
These guys pretty much go through all of the games.

Re: Wii U Discussion
Are nintendo's servers down currently? Having an issue doing a system update. It gives me the error code 105-4256. I tried following the advice from the support page but it tells me I need to do a system update first. Any help?
