Just to double up on what Mobster stated:
If User A has a PSNetwork ID, any games downloaded from PS+ or games that are purchased off on PSN via their account, can be played by any other users on the same shared PS3. If Users B, C, D, etc have a PSNetwork ID, they can even use the online portions of those games as well.
In the future, say your son gets his own PS3... You are allowed to have 2 PS3s tied to your PSNetwork ID. You would go to the Account Settings and then pick Activate on the 2nd system. From here, User A can create his account on the 2nd PS3, then login with their PSNetwork ID and download PS+ and Purchased games on their 2nd unit. Once again, all others Users (B, C, D), can access those games and play them online.
Example. I have 2 PS3s in the house. One in the main room and 1 in the bedroom. I have games installed on both systems. I can go to the System in the Main room and boot up Terraria, and then my girlfriend can go to the bedroom, login with her PSNetwork ID, then we can play online together.
That's just something to think about in the future.
It's very generous of Sony, Publishers, and Devs to allow users to have their games on 2 systems concurrently.
