When it does automatic PS+ updates, it runs in a standby-like mode. It doesn't fully turn on everything, like activating the disc drive and such. I don't think it has any need to use the fan.

It will automatically turn off after its updates.

Good to know. I've had PS+ for a few months now, I'm sure my PS3 would have overheated by now.

I loved pretty much all the Fatal Frames. Wish they'd continue them or do a HD upgrade re-release.

Manhunt Coming to PSN Next Week, The Warriors Coming Soon

Next week, the roster of downloadable Rockstar titles in the PS2 Classics collection at PlayStation Store is set to get bigger - and grislier - with the addition of Rockstar North's dark stealth thriller Manhunt, originally released 10 years ago. Beginning on May 14th Tuesday when the PSN Store does its weekly update (Wednesday for those in Europe), you'll be able to step back into the shoes of James Earl Cash, a Death Row inmate playing that most dangerous game of kill-or-be-killed at the mercy of the maniacal Lionel Starkweather.

Manhunt will be available from PSN for $9.99 / €9.99 / £7.99 and joins Bully and Red Dead Revolver, as well as all PlayStation 2 entries in the Grand Theft Auto and Midnight Club franchises, in the PS2 Classics category of PlayStation Store.

It will also soon be joined by The Warriors - stay tuned, Boppers...
          Go Noles!!! >>----->

Manhunt, talk about a unique experience. With the use of the headset and all. So engrossing. I remember some nights thinking "not playing tonight, too intense". Haha

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion - The New Beginning

It's a stealth based game. Basically you're an inmate that goes to execution, upon waking up from your "execution" you find out you were drugged and you're thrown into this underground movie thing where the director is egging you on to complete "scenes".

All the sound (at the time you used the SOCOM/Sony headset, now I imagine you would use the Bluetooth headset) came from whatever sound system you had (TV, surround, etc....) EXCEPT the director. He was only heard through the earpiece of the headset. This made it extremely cool. On top of that, enemies could hear you if you made too much noise, giving away your location. Or you could use that to your advantage by luring them in.

It was seriously intense. And of course you could play the game with out the headset and during the daytime but seriously that was NOT the way this game was meant to be played.
Late at night, shut off the lights, seriously I think they even tell you at the beginning SHUT OFF THE LIGHTS, crank the surround sound, put on the headset, and get into the game.

It was an intense game. I rented this game back when it was first released and my roommate in our dorm would play this every night up until 3am. Surround sound cranked up lights out and everything. Every night the soundtrack was the heartbeat and the random bursts of swearing and death. I remember my neighbors peeking in our door with a concerned, "WTF are you playing?". Haha

How will the graphics look for Manhunt... Will it look like I'm playing a PS2 game?

Also this game won't have anything blurred out, right? After doing some reading about Manhunt, I can't believe some of the stuff I read.

I wouldn't look for cutting edge graphics.

Haha I didn't think that would be the case... Just curious if it would look like I'm playing a PS2 game.

I would imagine yes. They may have smoothed it out but I'm not too sure. I have never played a PS2 rehash from the PSN so I don't know from experience either. Still though, I think it'd be worth the try considering how the cool the game is/was.

Hopefully you have the bluetooth headset. If not I'd suggest getting it. Headphones, Sony, Turtle Beach, etc.. would take away from the experience you get with hearing just the directors voice in your ear piece and the rest of the game around you. Really really unique.
