They released a fix for the consoles that couldnt boot to the xmb. All people need to do is download it to a usb drive and install it with ps3 in safe mode.

Here is a step by step guide on how to fix it if you were affected.

My PS3 was bricked before 4.45 - 4.40/4.41 screwed me up. Do you think this will work?

I've never had it happen to me on my PS3, so I don't speak from experience, but you can always try. Have you tried contacting Sony support?

No it doesn't work it error's out after being bricked....Just starting using my backup PS3...My original fully BC 80gb is now a paper weight, and Sony has yet to contact me back on a solution...

Is there a more detailed description of how the program works somewhere? If I bought a PS3 tomorrow, would I be eligible for next month? Mostly just curious, looks like a great deal.

I don't have a link but it kinda works like this. 1st week of the month usually one $50 retail PS3 game is made free, second week is usually a $15 psn game, the last two weeks are Vita games. On top of the free games there's also usually highly discounts on others.

Games stay free for a week or a month or sometimes like 3 months. I don't know what it depends on and this seams to be changing anyway.

If you bought a PS3 today you could take it home, sign up for plus, and be instantly eligible to DL whatever is free right now today. There's no waiting for next month or anything.

You keep them as long as you pay for PS Plus.

As long as you're a plus member you have access to every free item you've downloaded. If your sub runs out and you renew later you regain access to them again.

So long as you confirm the "purchase" (meaning click on the download button in the store), everything you've gotten from the IGC will stay in your download list and can be downloaded and played freely for as long as you're a Plus member. If your subcription lapses you'll lose access to those (I think it's temporary if you resub, but maybe someone knows for sure).

It is incredible! I actually preferred using M+K but I'm sure a controller would be just as good. Played it (and beat it) in a single 5 hour sitting.
