40, think I read somewhere it is actually 47gb installed and you need twice that free to install it.

Oh ok. That's no where near the buy, format , plug in, and you're done you mentioned before. And as rspencer points out that'd hardly clear up space for most compared to 15 gb dl's.

I guess unless you've got a metric **** ton of saved games I guess.

Cleaned up my 80gb hdd tonight. Couldn't figure out where all my source went with only 2 "large" (7gb) full game installs (NFS trial, infamous via data breach).

Turned out I had a lot of game installs from 2008/2009 still in there. Things like GT5 Prologue and Uncharted 2 beta data, etc.

Might swing by Frys and get the WD Blue 1TB drive tomorrow, still only have 31gb free, enough for a couple games.

When replacing the internal PS3 HDD, you have to get a laptop sized HDD... Or an SSD.

2.5'' HDDs only for the Praystations.

If you don't mind refurbished, newegg has that model for $40:

Took me a little over 6 hours to download BF3. I wish the DLC wasn't so much, no way I would pay $50 for DLC when I could buy brand new hard copy with all DLC for $40.

I have a 40 GB system, and about 30 of it is saved game.

So, yes.. for me, it is "buy, format and plug-in" and I'm done.

Ended up paying $80 for the 1TB version at Best Buy. Surprised they were cheaper than Frys and just a couple bucks + tax more than Amazon, though I suppose Frys would have price matched either of them. Will throw it in tonight/tomorrow.

After cleaning the 80gb out last night I queued up Batman and Saints Row to download. 7 hours later it had only downloaded 6% and PSN was down. Fantastic. PSN is far and away my biggest concern w/ the PS4.

I'm glad I never have had any speed issues with PSN.

Seems like it's quite the problem though - but when Sony made the PS3 online gaming wasn't anything like it is today. I think that they will be fine next gen and perhaps their focus was gearing towards the future (PS4) instead of devoting a ton of resources to fixing the current gen (PS3) because they knew their timeline they were working on. It's no excuse, but I fully believe PSN will be just as good as the XBone speed wise.

If not, expect a lot of rage from consumers. Here's to hoping!

On almost all day and it still hasnt finished downloading the first game (4.8gb of 6.6gb).

Turned it off for a couple hours and downloaded NCAA 14 on my 360 that's connected to the same switch with no problems.

It is slow as hell for me as well compared to the 360. Sony has got a lot of work to do in this regard for the PS4.

That is ridiculous. Sorry to hear about that issue. I'd probably be raging to tell the truth.

Me saying I haven't ever experienced that issue probably jinxed me for next gen... Just watch Sony fix it and mine still be broken haha.

I'd care more if I just got it or this was anything new. Just surprised it's been this bad.

Has basically been downloading all weekend and I've completed just Arkham, MK and Saints Row. Probably have BF3 and the demo for Sonic racing by the end of the evening.

Also, seems gamma on Saints is broken?
