I tried the monitor thing and to ME it doesn't compare to a great big screen tv with a great surround sound system while playing on your couch. I eventually went back to my big screen and returned my monitor.

Yeah, no way I could game on a small monitor. Unless I need a mouse and keyboard, I need to sit back and have a big screen (PC is connected to lounge).

I game on a 120 inch projector. Wasn't sure about input lag but just read about it and it ranged up to 40ms with an average of 20 for my model.

After reading all the above posts, I'm pretty happy with that and I get to enjoy a big screen. There's nothing quite like it when it comes to immersion.

I'm never going back to a TV after playing on a BenQ gaming monitor. I have the 27 inch and sit between 3-5 feet away and it's perfect for me. There really is no right or wrong answer though, everyone has has different needs in regards to how they game.

I'm playing Ori for the first time, man this is a good game. Pretty sure I got it back when it was a free game with gold (right?). Don't remember paying for it. About 2 hours in and I love it. I find myself laughing out loud at the difficulty spikes. I'll think I'm doing great then one bad jump and I'm getting squashed or blown to hell by some creature lol. Game makes me want to go back and play Symphony of the Night.

Such a good game. Convention I was at this weekend had a guy speed running it, it's crazy what people can do in games.

He was doing an "All-Skills, No OOB" run. Wasn't close to the world record time (which is currently 32:10) but still very fun to watch. I forget his time, it may have been around the 40 minute range?

As a long time Console and PC owner, as Uber stated, the PC has always (for the most part) been held back. I love to game on both for their own reasons, but I for one would welcome PC having an advantage in a game that exists on both. Halo 6 PC with 32 players???? Sign me up. Halo CE was an amazing game on PC.

I haven't read all the details on how this would work, but my gut says it'll be just like streaming x1 to PC now. In essence, 1 game, played on either the x1 or PC.

There is something to be said for gaming on a 27" monitor at a computer desk in a chair, it's really great IMO for gaming. There's a real sense of control you won't get any other way I think.

But with that being said, I'm old and my back cannot take long sessions of setting in a computer chair, especially when I already work 8 to 12 hours a day in a computer chair. And gaming on a huge screen also makes it easier for me to see things, since, well they are much more large, LOL.

So give me my 70" HDTV and a lazy boy recliner any day over a computer monitor and upright chair. To each his or her own though.

Biggest issue with HDTV is the input lag but if you find one with low levels of input lag that rival monitors then there is no debate for me. Immersion is important for gaming and if you got excellent performance on your big screen tv then there is no questions for me.

But is hard to find HDTV with input lag as low as monitors. This year Samsung has done it with their 7500 line which has 17 ms input lag which is beyond incredible

Lucky for me I've been able to combine the 3. A recliner, 27" monitor and 70" tv. Excuse the mess

A great setup would be a 27" monitor with a recliner and your monitor like hooked up to the wall beside you on a swivel so you could have it against the wall flat, sit down in your chair, then swivel it down and directly in front of your face.

But then again I game with my wife and sometimes my nephew and buddies so that sort of setup isn't going to work for me most of the time.

As for the lag, I did some research when I bought my tv years ago and determined the Samsung I ended up buying was very good in that area and I've had it professionally calibrated so I've never seen that as a problem. Then again, as I said I'm old, so maybe my grandpa like eyes doesn't see it LOL. Either way, ignorance is bliss I suppose..

No doubt. Just found out last month that my wife's company wants her back in Cincinnati by August 1st so my plan is to find a house with a full basement preferably unfinished so I can build my dream man cave.

That's a huge step up. Very nice.

I would paint those two shelves black to match your center unit. That would look amazing. That is just my opinion.

Also, the wall? Is that a paneling, wall paper, or woods slats? I want to do horizontal reclaimed wood behind my tv and add lighting like SLAB has.

Guys, I got one of these lights for $11. I plug it into my receiver and set it underneath the receiver. When the Xbox One is turned on it turns the receiver on and underneath the receiver it glows green.

                                http://smile.amazon.com/Antec-Accent...antec+lighting

For my PS4 I got two of these and put them under my TV stand, one on each side. I plugged those into my PS4 USB ports and went into settings and disabled the ports when the PS4 is turned on. Now, when I turn on my PS4 my entertainment center lights up blue underneath to signify the PS4 is turned on.
