Is there any real advantage to waiting for the S besides to size diffeerence?

Here's my situation. I want to get an Xbox One and one of the reasons is EA Access. I do not have a 4K TV and the size of the console doesn't really bother me. Is there anything else worth waiting for? I see the 2TB version is coming on 8/31 right? But the 500GB and 1TB aren't till December? Is that correct?

If I do wait till 8/31 it would kind of defeat the purpose of EA Access and having Madden early.

If I buy one now, I can get it for $279 and a free game and a $30 gift card at Target. What would you guys recommend?

Unless you're planning on either traveling with the console or upgrading your TV within the next two years, get the current model and save the money.

Yeah, I don't ever travel and I will probably get a 4K tv with our tax refund next year. But I am most likely getting the PS4 Neo since it can game in 4K. Not really concerned with the Xbox being able to play 4K movies because I just won't use that feature.

I think its pretty hard to pass up the system, a game, and $30 gift card for $279.

I think they will have a madden bundle with the new slim design . They always have a madden bundle

I guess the only real reason I would get the slim is for the size. And I would like to have EA Access so I can play Madden early. So I just don't think it's worth waiting for the slim. I would have to probably get the 500GB version and there is no date for it yet.

I get what you are saying. A lot of times it's better to wait for the better version. I just think in my case it's not much of an upgrade for me since I won't be using any of the new features it offers.

yea it is 400 but the 1tb and 500 not coming in august...

I feel the 1tb will be in October and 500 right before holiday shopping.

I'm surprised by some of the "backlash" around the slim and HD sizes. Especially with how cheap you can get some external drives now. Heck, I know I have nothing installed on my X1's hard drive, and I don't think I ever have either. Everything is on an external. I thought that's just what most people did. interesting.

MS is no dummy and they know the 2tb will sell well because it comes with a UHD blu ray player that by itself cost about 400 to 500 so those that are not big gamers will buy it because it will be a good price and value for what they are paying for. MS will try to get those sales from those individuals fast and they know that their 500gb will sell the most but they want to match that against Neo which will cost more for this holiday season.

MS also stated that they are working with their retial partners to offer trade ins when the Scorpio comes out.

MS just doing things right for a change.
