MS is all in on Scorpio and their branding of that console will be key come next year. You cannot have a 2tb console with an UHD player and the Ultimate Edition GOW game not be 450

MS could have done the S with no drive for UHD and it will cost 300 to 350 with the game the red console but what the S is giving you is awesome value.

UHD player is already 400-500 at stores and not only that you get games running on HDR and a blue tooth controller along with the $100 version of GOW 4
Which are all things that the minority of folks who frequent message boards know about. The average consumer will see $450. There are people still buying DVDs that haven't even transitioned to bluray.

Again, I'm not saying this is a bad value, I'm just saying it's expensive. They might not be trying to catch Sony, but they still want sales, and when Mrs. Smith walks into Best Buy to buy little Jimmy a gaming system and sees a $450 Xbox next to a $299 PS4, which one do you think she's going to purchase? UHD, 4K, and a Bluetooth controller certainly won't be swaying that decision.

Regardless, I'm not trying to derail this thread or anything. If it sells well, great, I hope it does. I'm just not convinced that's going to happen based on values and technology that most consumers don't know they need or even want. Especially when most of the equipment they have at home can't support it yet anyway.

      Yeah. I agree.

Buying a Slim for over 400 when I know I will be getting a Scorpio in a year is the main thing holding me back.

MRS. Smith can then turn around and look at the Vanilla xbox one with games included that will be at that point at 250

If you buying a scorpio then you should buy the vanillay xbox one for 250 when it drops price. Then trade it in for the scorpio.

Got a 1TB external drive from Woot...

Going to throw one on the Xbox One. I know it'll format it when I plug it in....after that I have to sit and go game by game to copy it over?

                Does that take forever?

Is there a setting somewhere to install a game on the HD immediately?

                Anything I should know?

Yeah, if you want to copy games over to the external drive you'll have to do it manually. It does take a little while. Obviously depends on the game size.

There is a setting that allows you to set the external drive as the default storage device for new installs.

Thanks! I'll flip that switch and also just probably start copying them slowly...

Copying games takes between 10-15 minutes depending on the game. Fast compared to installing.

Once you plug the external and format it, the system will ask if you want to install all new things on the external or keep it on the internal. You choose from there.

                        Re: Xbox One

Just picked up the 1TB Division bundle at target. Got a $30 gift card as well.

There was an employee standing by the registers in electronics while the girl was ringing me up and he said to me so you're getting an Xbox one. Well yeah. Then he said why did t you wait for the S? I said none of the features apply to me since I don't have a 4K tv and I don't care about the size. Plus I'm getting a game and a gift card and its $100 less. He tells me that I just need to buy a 4K tv and get the S. I'm like are you paying for it?

Then I told him I would probably trade it towards the Scorpio next year. He's like well we do t know if it's actually coming next year and there won't be any trade deals. I told him that MS already mentioned something about a trade deal and this says Um no they didn't. So I'm like whatever man. And I start to walk away and he is still jawing at me.

                        I'm just like wtf man.

But anyway, happy with what I got. Now have both next gen consoles.
