Yea it would be hard for Verizon to sell that refurbished as new for 700.

You make it seem like best buy has this great deal on a new xbox for 199 when it is not brand new..It is refurbished which means it started with an issue and MS had to fix it

but that is besides the point. Refurbished PS4 and xbox ones have been around for a while and many know this. The question was if xbox one as brand new will drop more..Not many interested in buying refurbished
Amazing that you're rewriting his post (he never suggested it was new) and then are trying to discount how wrong you are by discounting why there are multiple posts simply correcting you.

If I traded in my PS3 to Gamestop, they'll only give me 'broken' pricing and send it in for refurbishment ... because I upgraded the hard drive. I can go turn in my phone right now to Verizon to upgrade, and they'll refurb it and sell it as such. Neither are broken, both are very common reasons there is refurbished stock.

No reason to double down on being incorrect, it's OK.

Personally, I expect Xbox One consoles to approach $199 as stores clear final inventory, but it'll be fleeting and they'll be quickly snatched up. Probably not until after the Slim is released and they're competing for shelf space.

As I said you may know you did that but the person buying does not know the reason for the item being refurbished. Bottom line is once you open the item is considered not new.

You can hop on ebay or craiglist and get a used console for much less then retail today. The point being made is that someone asked if MS will reduce the price further. I am sure that person did not have in mind refurbished xbox ones.

RDR backwards compat is so huge. Great move by MS getting this one out. Epic, epic game that holds up perfectly well.

Is there any real advantage to waiting for the S besides to size diffeerence?

Here's my situation. I want to get an Xbox One and one of the reasons is EA Access. I do not have a 4K TV and the size of the console doesn't really bother me. Is there anything else worth waiting for? I see the 2TB version is coming on 8/31 right? But the 500GB and 1TB aren't till December? Is that correct?

If I do wait till 8/31 it would kind of defeat the purpose of EA Access and having Madden early.

If I buy one now, I can get it for $279 and a free game and a $30 gift card at Target. What would you guys recommend?

The multiplayer is toast though. Rockstar really should have fixed it a while ago.

                What do you mean?

It's unplayable due to servers or something or it just no longer works in bc?

Given the above, I probably would take advantage of one of the inventory-clearing deals, yeah.

It's just hacked beyond belief. Check out the red dead thread. There is a Reddit link explaining it pretty well. I guess it happen in like 2014. I had no issues playing multiplayer back when I was big into it but ran into a bunch of issues today.

Definitely still ways to enjoy multiplayer. Just can't be in a public lobby.

Thanks. That's what I was figuring. Just seems like it makes more sense to get one now in my particular case. I just hope Target has them in stock when I head there Thursday.

Personally, I'd get the slim, but that's me. I don't think MS will wait until December to release the smaller hard drive models.

I guess the only real reason I would get the slim is for the size. And I would like to have EA Access so I can play Madden early. So I just don't think it's worth waiting for the slim. I would have to probably get the 500GB version and there is no date for it yet.

I get what you are saying. A lot of times it's better to wait for the better version. I just think in my case it's not much of an upgrade for me since I won't be using any of the new features it offers.

Agree in regards to Microsoft releasing the smaller HD models earlier than December. I'm guessing late October/early November as it would be a bad move to miss the Holiday season, especially Black Weekend.

I think it'll depend on demand. If they can't keep the 2gb in stock they'll ride that to the opening of the holiday season and then drop the lower priced SKUs.

The console is smaller, doesn't have that big ugly brick and is sort of future proof when you get a 4k tv. I already have a fat xbox one, but want a newer slim as well. I'm waiting for the 1TB model.
