Has anyone ever heard of this before? I have been gaming my whole life and can't remember something like this with other consoles.

It happened with Sony with the PS4 as well, delayed them pre-selling it by a few months.

HOnestly, the way I'm looking at it at this point is I might not pre-order. I don't think it'll be a huge seller and I should be able to walk into any store on launch and get one.

          Why take that chance though?

Preordering doesn't change the release date so it is what it is... whenever it goes up I'll preorder then.

Yeah, I'm not sure I get why everyone is so anxious about pre-ordering. I'm going to, but I'm certainly not going to worry about when the day they open them up is.

I suspect that pre-ordering won't all that necessary. It's certainly not going to be a Nintendo Wii or Switch situation. You might get stuck waiting a week or two, if the initial shipments go fast.

No one is going to end up stuck waiting a week or two. There'll be plenty available. Thing is expensive and not many people are even aware of its existence outside of OS / hardcore gamer types.

Agreed 100%. I'm pumped about the X but know I am in the minority.

To me it's more probable that several systems will be there on the shelf than not. Play Station is the #1 brand and they even had/have trouble selling the Pro. This costs more than that. To me there are just too many variables that say it'll be on the shelf. Price; Competition; Games.

I'm agreeing that it's likely you'll be able to find a system but my point is it doesn't cost you anything to preorder and it guarantees you will get one. You can always cancel if you decide you don't want it so there is no reason not to actively choose to skip preordering.

Yeah there is literally no disadvantage to pre ordering.

About the only one I can think of is if you preorder and forget about it and get surprised by a $500 credit card charge but I know I for one would never forget about something like that...LOL..

I remember when Xbox/PS4 both came out. I preordered PS4 and Xbox both. PS4 was impossible to find. Xbox was easy. I was so glad I had preordered my PS4 when everyone was paying like $1500-$2000 on ebay for theirs.

I'm just afraid that some unexpected expense might come along and I won't be able to pre-order. Like the starter in my car went out on Monday. It cost $235.00 to fix it. I'm thankful I had the money because a car is more important than a new console. Still, I wish they would hurry up and release the hounds. The $ is burning a hole in my pocket.

I'm in the same boat sort of. I would like to preorder it, pay it off completely and then not have to worry about maybe not having all of it right when it comes out.

They need to get this approved for sale by tomorrow so I can preorder in the morning!!

There will be a ton of Scorpio's available on launch day and to be perfectly honest, like the original base Xbox One, I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft lowers the price to $400 in March/April 2018 if it sells poorly. Majority will buy an Xbox One/PS4 Slim which im thinking will be $200 for the holiday sales.
