Vanquish is so underrated. It's a solid 3PS(3rd person shooter). It's like a faster paced gears of war.

I heard it's a great but somewhat short game (with no multiplayer). I'm fine with that, but if you were buying full price it might disappoint.

Great month though, I've never played MGSV or Vanquish...the baseball game sounds awesome too

Is there a way to adjust the volume when using normal headphones through the controller 3.5mm port?

Two solutions.

The cheap one is to hit the Xbox button, right bumper overdo settings. If you have a headset plugged in, there will be a volume control there.

The other option is to buy and adapter from Turtle Beach.

The adapter works really well, even on controller that have the headphone input. They have mo expensive versions that adds features, but the for volume, all you need is the basic.

I’m in the preview program and the last update seem to fix my UI lag. It’s runs so smooth now. NOW, don’t hold me to this. You may already have the latest update. Maybe someone else in the program can check.

Was thinking about putting my X on the preview program but hated that sometimes the updates would be very buggy at times.

Although I have my console set to auto update, sometimes the preview updates I have to download manually. I guess this would give me time to research if there are any issues before updating. Just having the option is nice.

Yeah, the settings work well, but it's a pain to do quickly....more a set it and forget it type thing....

I agree. Those Turtle beach adapters are pretty great for this. I think the price is kind of stupid, at $30, but it is what it is.

Looks like you can get the original Microsoft adapters for $25 on eBay.

I have one that I got/use with a old style controller...my new ones have the port built in...the controls are nicer, but i tend to prefer the newer controller....more keeping the old ones for when my kid starts breaking them lol

FYI, you can still use the adapter on the new controllers. It still snaps in the same way.

I'm considering a Chat Pad, to be honest, which I think will also control volume and such, as well as offer shortcuts to screens shots and recording clips.

I legit CANT WAIT to buy some of these older Xbox games.
Star Wars Replublic Commando and both KOTORS.
These games are going for much more (physical) than on Xbox marketplace so this is so awesome.

Love what Xbox is doing with their backwards compatibility.

Yesterday I installed a few B.C. games on my One X.
360 Games:
Splinter Cell Conviction
Rage
Call of Duty 4
Half Life The Orange Box
Farcry 3
Black Ops 1

Original Xbox:
MX Unleashed

All of these game looked surprisingly good. Very clean, clear and crisp. Better than I remember them looking on the original consoles. Now part of the reason my be my newer 4k TV but does the X somehow display these games differently then the original consoles does? Or am I nuts?

KOTOR looks very nice on One X, nice 1080p upgrade it got! Really makes a difference.

For 360 bc, SW Force Unleashed got some nice treatment as well!

Yeah there should be per the video from the team responsible for it at Microsoft, which I actually watched from my One's dashboard. At the least, bc games for the One should be 1080p enhanced, and usually will run smoother as well (at least to an extent, not necessarily 60fps-enhanced if you get my meaning).

By the way, I got one of these new Combat Controllers and it was awesome. Love those rubber grips and it's got a cool look, very comfortable to use. The particular one I got was defective though (stop working and shuts off after a few minutes, regardless of batteries and did this over both my X and my S that I put in the living room) so back it goes to amazon for a refund.

I liked it so much though I might just pick one up again locally at BB in case of any issues. I think I just beat the percentages on getting a bad one, and it probably didn't help that amazon shipped it in a bag instead of a box.

KOTOR is a good example of the passive improvement IMO.

More horsepower, higher resolution.
