Re: Xbox One
Having two consoles usually means the owner of both likes to rotate or ping pong their gaming by using each system to the point of boredom or change.
For example and in a perfect world say if mlb 2k18 was on xbox and then mlb the show was on ps4. I personally would play either one once i got bored with one
then again microsoft hasnt really deserved the flack over exclusive titles
they have forza and they have easports(to some extent if you feel that electronic arts the, serves flavors the xbox one and its controller more toward its sports games)
xbox one is lacking in the rpg departmentBrand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: Xbox One
They're lacking in the Single Player RPG/Adventure Game. When you look at Horizon ZD, God of War, Uncharted, The Order 1886, Detroit, ect. all single player driven games. Microsoft doesn't have as many appealing 1st Party stuff.

Re: Xbox One
The more unique experiences, the better. The XB1 has some good exclusives, but we are long overdue for new MS franchises that are on the level of Halo, Gears, and Forza.XBL: Mean Greene

All games you essentially play through and put away but yes I agree they are lacking there. Most of these are great but I just think people might overrate their importance. I’d kill for a Microsoft exclusive as good as horizon obviously but which batch of games here do you think currently has more players.
Horizon ZD
God of war 4
Detroit
The order
Uncharted 4
Last of us
OR
Halo 5
GOW 4
State of decay 2
Forza horizon 3
Sea of thieves
Forza 7
As an owner of all consoles this is why it doesn’t matter to me at all. Sony has some great games but I usually play them and then I’m done. Horizon is SO GOOD I keep going back to it every now and then though. I fire up my pro to play Sony exclusives but other than that I’m always on my OneX playing third party stuff or a Microsoft exclusive that is usually good to play from an online vs or coop perspective until the new version of the game comes out. I honestly can’t think of a Sony exclusive that gets me years of miles from an online perspective. I just feel like most of the exclusive complaining comes from people who don’t own or have no intention on buying the other console anyways. They both have clear advantages exclusive wise imo.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I hear what you're saying, but as a platform holder, MS should try to service as many gaming needs as possible so they can grow their customer base. I think the complaining from people who don't own the console is because they want to buy one, but MS hasn't put out the kinds of games they're interested in. Now, MS could say we don't want to, go buy a PlayStation or they can attempt to service them as well.XBL: Mean Greene

Re: Xbox One
As someone who owns a PS4 Pro, a Switch and bought an Xbox One X a few weeks ago, exclusives are extremely important to me as that's what drives me into your eco-system and keeps me interested in staying with it. All im hoping for is one good quality exclusive a year for X and Switch, from Microsoft/Nintendo or a third party. Doesn't matter as long as it's exclusive and a good to great game that interests and appeals to me.
As for that batch of PS4 vs Xbox One, yeah, it's easily PS4. Sales alone is more, the quality is easily far superior and unlike Xbox One, there's no fluff such as getting two of those games at launch for $10 each.
If it wasn't for exclusives, there would be no reason to own more than one console and if you take this away, you're also taking away past exclusives so something like backwards compatibility while staying good loses some of it's appeal if it doesn't have the exclusives on it like Halo, Forza and Gears.
Everyone looks at it their own way but for me, Sony meets my expectations with almost every Sony published exclusive I buy, Nintendo is kind of non-existent since im not into Mario, Zelda, etc. For me, Mario & Rabbids was my one lone game for 2018 with Octopath this year (thus far). Microsoft wise, I bought the X with SOD 2 and despite enjoying and finishing the original SOD five years ago, I quit it after 15 or so hours. Just not into it at all anymore plus no real story (the first one was amazingly better) and after a while, it's just not up to par.
In fairness though, I didn't really have any major or game breaking bugs or glitches. The few I had were minor and didn't bother me. It's just that after a while, I was bored playing the game and was done with it.
To me, this gen has been over for a few years but now that Terry Myerson is gone and Spencer is 100% in charge with only Satya ahead of him, I have hope and high expectations for the future. Not now though as right now is more of a transition between Xbox One and their next console which is what I care about. I am looking forward to watching their conference (I do watch them all though including Devolver and LRG) as im expecting to see a good amount of amazing third party games with a few exclusives thrown in, mainly the rumored Halo/Gears spin offs.
Microsoft and Xbox One is still doing great in general but compared to Sony's numbers, it obviously doesn't look that way. But it's all good. They started up a new studio in San Diego, are rumored to be purchasing Playground Games who are rumored to be working on Fable 4 so future wise, if Spencer keeps this up, Xbox 4 (or whatever it ends up being called) will be in an excellent position especially when you add in BC and Game Pass.
Right now, Microsoft just has to stay on course and see it all through. Long term is always more important than short term and in this regard, im excited for their future.Comment

Not sure you understand what I was asking with the two batches of games I listed. If I’m mistaken here I strongly disagree.
Also disagree on SOD2 it’s much better than 1 but I agree there is not much story there. That’s not what drives me to a game like that though. It’s a sandbox survival game. You kind of just do your own thing.Last edited by ricky24; 06-10-2018, 01:33 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Unless you’re playing with friends and if you have the game available on both consoles there’s no reason to get a 3rd party game on the PS4 pro. I continue to use my PS4 only for exclusives.

So while I do understand what you meant and while I do agree with both of those games having higher player engagement seeing as how they're live serviced games but im way more impressed with for example GOW having 5M+ in sales than I am those two games combined because well, they're $20 combined for a month. After playing SOD 2 and reading a lot of negative comments for SOT, I can easily see why both games are available for a $10 rental on Game Pass.
Of course, I think Microsoft should have saved putting first party games on Game Pass until the start of next gen as that would have been even more huge. The main difference though for me is when it comes to the quality. While different type of games, watching Days Gone or even a three year old game like Dying Light and then going into SOD 2, im sorry but it's like, what were they doing the last five years? Especially on X. It runs worse on X than the S and base unit. I don't understand how that's even possible and I barely had any bugs or glitches. It was the gameplay loop that bored me as it's exactly the same as the previous game and all the characters and faces look average at best. All the enemies are basically copied from the original game and the animations just aren't up to par.
I'm sorry but when it comes to the big three, I simply expect more because they're the hardware manufacturers. My expectations for third parties is lower.
As for SOD 2, I agree in regards to the game being overall better than the original BUT there's nothing really new or anything that separates it from the original. I was expecting the same BUT with a far better story and setup but it's non-existent which doesn't do it for me. I can see why people get addicted to it and want to keep playing it because that's how I was with the first game. For me, I was just expecting more from SOD 2.
It's all good though. Just over an hour to go to Microsoft's conference. Bought my cold cuts earlier and im ready to watch!!!Comment

Xbox One
“Currently has more players”. I wasn’t talking about game sales at all.
Every Microsoft exclusive will be on game pass moving forward. It has nothing to do with with fans quality. The games are regular price outside of that if you don’t have the pass. I don’t look at game pass as a negative at all.Last edited by ricky24; 06-10-2018, 03:05 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Okay. Fair enough. I know. I just think that they should have saved it for their next console as I believe it would have made a far bigger impact.Last edited by peter42O; 06-10-2018, 03:07 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I don't think the power has that much to do with it. Now that the newness has worn off I'm back gaming on my Pro while the X sits silent.Other than Madden I don't use my X at all. Still waiting for Microsoft to release an exclusive game worth buying. I'm hoping this is the E3 that blows me away.Comment
