If you haven't been selected, you can have a friend send you the preview token. I believe they do it via the preview forums.

I am glad they're adding notifications for friends but I hope you can toggle it on and off for select people or maybe just have it so only your favorites show notifications. I have over 100 friends and the coming and going notifications were mildly annoying on the 360 but considering we use our One as our tv viewing it would be disastrous to have it showing all notifications all the time.

I hope there's some configuration methods for it or I'm afraid my fiancé will make me remove the One from our tv because of all of the notifications .

Anyone have any insight into this?

I'm sure they'll let you turn it off. I wouldn't want them on while I was watching TV, personally....

I kinda like not having them now, but I don't really game online with people as much now (not much gaming time)

If they listened to what they said was the number one request, I'm sure they will listen to the logic of being able to toggle the friends notification on and off.

Xbox One

Anyone lose the "Pins" menu and on the other side in have a "Having trouble connecting" screen? It's been like this for over a week. Any way to fix/correct this?

Edit: Google was my friend. Figured it out. Unplugged power supply for 5 minutes and now it's working

I'm pretty luke-warm on the console in general. Those little things happen all the time, then you have to do a power recylcle or whatever. I only own 2 games (BF4 and NBA2k14) and I've had the system since Christmas. For me Forza, Theif and titanfall to a lesser extent are fringe games for me that I considered buying but never pulled the trigger and I don't see anything on the horizon until the end of may (watchdogs) If it stays that way, I wiill only have 3 games after owning the system for 6 months which is in stark contrast to my old 360 where I felt like I was buying a new game at least every month.

When I look ahead even late in the year i can see a b-list game I will buy (sniper elite) but beyond that other things like the witcher (delayed to 2015) and other games I was interested in kind of disappeared.

So overall this whole new generation overall I'm being a little bit of a debbie downer on.

with UFC moving to EA has me a little worried, so I don't think my collection will grow very much.

I want a splinter cell, elder scrolls or fallout, a fresh new fps - something like last of us or even something completely new. Mix in a far cry, a new 2k nfl game (yeah right) and I'd be happy - some killer new arcade games as well couldn't hurt. Right now though, it's a tad bleak.

Outside of the sports games, I don't remember any triple A titles worth mentioning when the 360 first came out until Gears of War. Which was a year after it came out.

So having a game like Watchdogs come out 7 months after console release would suggest the One is actually doing better.

Wolfenstein comes out in May and Elder Scrolls online is schedule for June, Dragon Age in Sept along with Destiny. I'm not big into Kinect Sports but from reading up on it sounds like it is going to be a great game and that comes out next month. I'm kinda glad for the drought right now because I would like the cash to splurge on games when they come out and right now, it's not splurging time for me. Otherwise I would have a PS4 right now too.

Second half of the year seems to be when I spend most money on games. This year for instance:
Destiny
Evolve
Batman Arkham Knight
Dragon Age
Quantum Break
Sunset Overdrive
WWE Game
MAYBE Madden if it is any good
Project Spark - definitely will be looking into this
Lords of the Fallen - my type of hack and slash, puzzle game.
Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark - played all the other Transformers games from Activision and enjoyed them.

That's a lot of games that will keep me entertained fall and winter.

What I am hoping for when the Xbox one launches in Japan in September is a new Phantom Dust. I loved that game to death on the Gen 1 Xbox. They never brought it to the 360. Would love a new Blue Dragon too.

Then you have the indies getting ready to release games. One I think might be a lot of fun is Energy Hook. Another one, Below.

Also, the rumor at this moment is that Xbox One will get Dino Crises reboot as an exclusive. So a new Dino Crises MAY be in development, we'll have to wait to see. Not sure it would come out this year as the unannounced exclusive but would be sweet if it did.

One last thing, it's unfortunate, but I've pretty much given up on sports Unless EA does a complete 360 with Madden I just don't see it. I'm not a basketball guy. 2k makes a beautiful game and I almost always buy it but I find myself not really playing it that much. Same thing happened for baseball. Haven't played baseball a lot since MVP. So when it comes to the major sports football is my thing and EA hasn't done anything to make me care about what they are doing so I'm looking for other games that are fun, story driven, puzzle related. I mean the fact that I haven't played an awesome football game in 9 years is unfathomable but it's true

No need to unplug, simply hard cycle it by holding the power button when it's on for 15 seconds.
