If you're going to pay for a subscription anyways why not be happy about free games being included.

And PS+ is certainly worth paying for if not JUST for the free games that pays for the subscription in no time at all.
The current PSN has been nothing but top notch so far with speeds etc..so I have zero issues there.

And what do you mean "paying for games, but not controlling what get felt like a bad way to spend my money"

By the way this is from a XBOX Live since beta guy. I recently dropped LIVE due to not getting the X1 as of yet.
I don't feel XBL is dropping in quality due to offering free games...I've always thought they should offer a bit more than what they did....I agree with Skyboxer

Plus, it has to hurt software sales. How often do you see people say they will wait because they can guess that it will be free later?

Lastly, I never thought that PS+ was that great because the idea of paying for games, but not controlling what get felt like a bad way to spend my money. It also devalues games. People, like with Steam sales, just accumulate titles and build piles in their account.
This makes no sense to me. Look at it the other way, with PS+, Sony has made free plenty of games that I was iffy on and never bought and games I never would spend money on. More than a few titles i've actually enjoyed. PS+ is just a better value. No longer can Microsoft argue that PSN sucks. I put PSN and Live on a level playing field. One thing i've hated about Live is having to keep my Live subscription going to access things like Netflix, HBOGo, Amazon, etc. Why hide services I already pay for behind a pay wall? Don't have that problem on PSN.

Yeah, that pay wall is annoying. Since I went with Xbox One alone it's not a bad deal, but if I had both systems it'd be more annoying....I'd probably only have one subscription service.

Finally got around to doing this getting sound through TV and not receiver. Still playing around with it. Maybe have to check Xbox settings. I'm guessing I don't have it hooked up correctly.

Let me know what's not working. It should be:
STB -> Xbox One -> AVR -> TV

Make sure the AVR & TV are switched to the correct input. Feel free to PM me or post here. I try to check daily.

Thanks. Everything is working except sound from Xbox. Wondering if I need to run another hdmi from receiver back to the TV.

SoMiss2000 whatever device you want your receiver to output it's sound should go into HDMI In, then you run 1 HDMI Cable from HDMI Out into your TV

The library of games needs to build before they can start doing two free games a month.

I think they'll do one a month or one every quarter or something....PS+ has the same issue and the PS4 games delivered are usually indie stuff that isn't great.

Qq. How is the NFL app on the xbox one? Can you really watch NFL network and redzone? I don't have cable but I have a buddy who let's me use his info for the NFL IPAD app.

My understanding is the red zone feed is from your subscribed provider feeding into your xb1. Then you can snap the nfl app alongside it.

                            Edit:
I don't think RZ is available inside the nfl app, unless you verify a cable or satellite subscription.

Both are welcome additions...I can imagine the opt-in could really give them a ton of data to improve the voice tech.

Yeah, I think you're right (I didn't have a One until Christmas so wasn't watching much Red Zone). The NFL app is not RZ, it's just add on stuff.

Yeah it was announced back in January that nfl network would be streaming thru the nfl app. Looks like the app is broadcasting the draft this weekend as well.
