did u update the controller ?

I did, and I feel like that's what caused the problems. I saw the update controller thing in the settings, so I did it. Worked fine with the play and charge one, but the one I was running regular AA batteries in, failed at first, but then I hit retry and it did the update. After that I turned it off and let it sit around until Saturday when we tried to use it. Of course now it's not working.

Question becomes, how do I return the defective controller, when its the one that came with the system. I'm guessing I need to contact MS/XB support?

I just recently picked up an Xbox One after having a PS4 since launch and I am surprised by how much I like about the system. I got the kinect-less version and am perfectly fine without it. There are things that would probably make things easier like recording game clips or launching apps and games, but it really doesn't take all that long just using the remote itself. The media apps work really well and the games and everything run perfectly fine. The controller took some getting used to at first - I think the 360 controller is the ish - but now I love using the thing. All in all, really liking the system.

That's what I figured. I may just return the packaging from the one I bought Saturday, with the defective controller inside and tell them its defective. Problem is, then I end up with an exchange, and three controllers again. I'm not sure their return policy will straight up refund me. Have to check.

Yeah, I traded in Ryse during one of the promotions, it's the one I miss the most by far, impatiently waiting to re-buy on sale.

Just picked up that COD: Ghosts deal a couple weeks ago... going through the single player games isn't as fun as it used to it seems. Narrow on-rails campaign is kinda bleh. Give me objectives and a map to do them on.

Yeah Ryse is a very underrated game and some sites say it's the best looking Next Gen game so far...

I traded mine too, but want it back. Never completed the campaign.

COD mails in their campaigns. If you want a fps with a decent campaign check out Wolfenstein. I'm an hour or two into it and it's pretty good.

Agreed. Glad i didnt listen to some reviews about the game being repetitive because If I listened to them, I would have personally missed out on one of the more enjoyable games i have played so far on next gen. Really happy to have played it and to have completed the story.

Same here, can't believe I was actually on the fence about this game. I just finished it and it's by far the second best game after Forza, on next-gen.

I picked up my Xbox One yesterday via the Target Cartwheel app, man I love this console. I dove into Forza 5 and Titanfall last night, and I'm addicted to say the least.

One game I cannot wait for is Sunset Overdrive. Last gen I was more of a Sony guy whilst I owned both consoles, so I know Insomniac Games can make a pretty damn good game.
