Re: Xbox One
Got the Xbox One (no kinect) for Christmas, at this exact moment I'm playing Madden 25 and have the Bruins' game snapped on live tv. Love it!
I browsed through the thread but didn't really see anything to answer my question. Is there a way to change the volume of what audio is being heard without going to settings and the sound mixer? So when the Bruins go to intermission I'd like to slide audio from snap tv to Madden (or whatever game I'm playing).
I also assume there is no way to change the channel with the xbox controller unless you have Kinect. I can view the guide but need to use my proper Logitech for that right?
I'm going to do some reading. But really enjoying the One so far expecially the snap features. Studbucket and team great work!Comment

Re: Xbox One
Another thing you may want to do if you haven't already JRoz is update your controller. Make sure your mic is securely connected to your controller when you do this. Under settings and then I think devices, select controller and there should be an option to update controller. To do this your controller needs to be connected via a usb cord to the x1...Repeat this procedure for all your controllers...Again, you may have done this alreadyEA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I bought another 1TB external HDD yesterday specifically to use with my One. It's a Western Digital on sale for $69.99. I already have the same drive I use for other movies and music. I'm considering returning it because I probably don't really need it. Really got it because it was on sale lol. My question is, can I put movie files on it and plug it into the One and stream content from it? Or one the One formats it I can only use it for games? Thanks.

Re: Xbox One
Anyone know how lenient it is with the 256GB minimum? I want to get one of these for the speed benefit, but I feel like I'm tip toeing near the line in which it won't recognize the drive as a game storage device

Re: Xbox One
For any of you with a Turtle Beach XO line of headsets, they have released an updated an improved chat adapter to replace the Microsoft adapter we use with our headsets now. If you buy one of their headsets now, you will get the new one, but they do have a deal in which you can get the upgraded adapter for 30% off and free shipping. It comes to $27.96 for the Pro and $20.96 regular version.
The biggest reason to upgrade to either of these is that they now will allow for mic monitoring, so you can hear yourself in the headset. I'm 99% positive you can use these with any stereo headset you own.
The Pro version includes some presets and a feature they call Superhuman Hearing that allows you to press a button to amplify quiet sounds like footsteps that is supposed to improve your ability to hear people coming.
I have the XO7's, which I love except for three things. One, they are stereo, not 7.1. But I have a pair of their Stealth 500X 7.1 headsets, and while the surround is nice, the sound is not near as good as the XO7's, and they lack the leather ear pads that the XO7's have, which are much cooler. The 500X's are lighter, but I hate the feel of the ear pads that get so hot.
Two, they require you to be connected to the controller all of the time. I use my headset to watch TV and Netflix at night, and it is annoying that I have to have my controller handy, although the cord is plenty long enough to leave the controller on the coffee table and still sit comfortably on the couch. But, like I side, the lack of cord means a drop off in sound quality.
But the third thing is not fixed with the new adapter. I really can't use these to play and chat with. I need to hear myself, in particular when I'm playing at night, to avoid yelling. So I spent the $28 and ordered the Pro version, which should make these a lot more useful. The extra presets are gravy.
I may end up selling my Stealth 500X's, but I haven't decided. they are not terrible, and are intact a great set of fully wireless surround sound headsets. You don't need a cord for chat, you get mic monitoring, and even with the transmitter crammed behind my console in the TV stand, I have yet to get a single pop or loss of sound. They blow away the wireless surround headsets I've used before.
But I have found that I still grab the stereo headset most of the time. I'm going to give Alien: Isolation a try, and see if the surround really benefits that game. It's pretty much the game that drove me to spend the cash I did on the 500X's. I just haven't had a lot of time to play it, since I want to save it for late at night in the dark. My daughter is on winter break, so I've been letting her have the living room for late night gaming.Comment

Regarding the sound slider question: Nope
Regarding channel change without Kinect: you can use an IR extension cable. They are pretty cheap from Amazon and you can get a 3-headed one to plug into your TV, AVR, and STB.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.
?Ask me about the Xbox Ally handheld - I'm on the team that made it.Comment
