Looks like the public didn't like the reveal.

Sony share prices up 9% and Microsoft shares down slightly since the reveal.

EA's CGI presentation was awful by the way. Didn't excite me for any game on either console.

Exactly. Which stinks because I really only want to buy one. Just not sure which.

I think the people with high expectations don't know what they were expecting themselves; as usual they just wanted something to "blow them away". That's how strictly hardcore gamers are. The same ones that collectively laughed at Nintendo when they released specs for the Wii and thought it'd be a failure, and immediately wrote off Microsoft's Kinect. Anyone that's seen how videogame systems have progressed from one generation to the next would know that with each successive release, the improvements become less pronounced. Given the convergence of media, entertainment, etc. I don't know why some people would expect this to be all about games.

I guess since I'm older I actually liked a lot of the content MS showed today. It's not screaming must have/day one to me, especially if it doesn't have backwards compatibility - but I'm leaning more towards getting one today than I was yesterday. My PS3 is almost exclusively a blu-ray player so imo these systems can't be only about games. I thought it was a really good showing.

HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

                  Re: Xbox One

The Spike/GTTV post show has had a couple cool points.

                  - As before stated, the Xbox One can still play games without being connected. Obviously for the all the connected experiences you'll need internet.

                  - Kinect 2.0 works equally well in any kind of lighting including a pitch black room

                  - One controller is apparently more durable (tell that to the many official controllers ive thrown due to Fifa/2k)

They're going to talk to Andrew Wilson so maybe there'll be something new there. (EDIT- nope. EA stunk up this reveal. Exclusives that are the equivalent of a preorder bonus)

Personally, I have my monitor running with a hdmi splitter for my PC/TV/360 so if this works with Cox all that functionality is a bigBigBIG selling point for me. I stopped playing fantasy sports, but if the hdmi passthrough and kinect things work as lag free as they did in that demo it'd be fantastic.

Don't know how people are calling this overpriced when there is no pricing point. Even if you don't use the TV features (or can't) or if you're like me and could care less about the streaming gameplay aspects, i don't think its a knock against a console just because you might not use some features if ultimately it's still doing a great job with games.

Still need to learn more on how used games will be handled. I'm a cheap **** when it comes to buying video games. Hopefully we learn more at E3.

The interfaces/OS for HTPCs are free, so no cost there.

You can buy a decent HTPC for $250, if not less.
Not that plays top level games like Xbox One will...You spend almost 250 for a quality graphics card alone....

For only HTPC I'll agree, but not a decent gaming rig

In the beginning, middle, and end. This was always about the system and other stuff, it wasn't a secret. They've already said that the E3 focus is on games and since they got the tv details out of the way, it frees them up to talk more about games during the 60-90 minutes they'll have for their E3 press conference.

Also, people need to go to gametrailers to see more in-depth information.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
