Just curious, has anyone seen a size comparison between the XBox One and the 360? I'd like to see exactly how much bigger the console is.

Re: Xbox One
Also, the camera isn't a required part of functionality for a phone. You have control over it.
I understand the point you're trying to make, but the two really can't be compared - either for or against the Kinect.badComment

Re: Xbox One
Can we please, and I mean PLEASE, stop with XBone...I don't think I can take 10 years of that. I will call Xbox One the same thing I called Xbox 360..."Xbox". Even on the new console itself it only says Xbox.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I'm talking about all the privacy issues. Your phone has a microphone and camera, you can't leave those at home and just use your phone without them. Someone could hack your phone and listen to you just as easily as using Kinect if it's required.
Your phone sits there waiting for you to talk to Siri...how much stuff does it listen in on?
Just feel the privacy issues are a non issue...Kinect's camera and mics are no different than the camera/mics on a laptop.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
The Xbone is growing on me. They need to sign Bone Thugs in Harmony to sing "Thuggish Ruggish Bone" while showing gameplay videos. That would be SICK!

Re: Xbox One
I'm in agreement there.
Of course the potential for everything people are complaining about are saying - there's no rejecting that claim. I wouldn't have privacy concerns (any more so than normal, at least) with the Kinect.
My issues with the Kinect are much more simple than that.badComment

Re: Xbox One
Your comment about the third party not developing for it because the PS4 may not also have the device is somewhat moot for two reasons. First, because there are tons of developers who do develop for just Xbox or just PS3 right now. Not all devs develop for all systems. Secondly, the PS4 may or may not (as far as I know) have their camera in their system and even if they don't bundle it like MS is then it will still be a large market for a game with everyone owning an Xbox One and a partial market of PS4 owners having the camera.
jmood is right, an accessory sold after-market is almost never a huge hit, but an accessory bundled with a system has the potential to be a game changer since devs will look at it much differently.
If you want an example, look no further than Xbox Live versus PS3 game chat. Go on Xbox Live and everyones talking, go on most PS3 games and it's almost dead silent. At least in my experiences. Why? Because the Xbox comes bundled with a headset and the PS3 does not. And you have to remember, this is despite the fact that PS3 has a FREE multiplayer system versus a pay system for the Xbox.
That in itself shows the difference bundling something with a system can make in regards to utilization. To put it quite simply...most people think technology they haven't used is just a "gimmick" and sometimes they're dragged kicking and screaming into the future. I remember everyone laughing at the iPad and how much of a "gimmick" that was but look at that market now... It was a market no one thought was really needed and that turned out to be a complete misjudgement..Last edited by ODogg; 05-23-2013, 06:38 PM.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
I don't think there's really anything they can say, with Kinect having to be plugged-in, that will quell peoples fears of being spied on.
You either take their word for it, or not.
Giant Bomb's Jeff Gerstmann seems to believe there will be system level settings for Kinect that can be toggle on/off.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Xbox One
You're missing the point of my post:
Most of the big selling games ARE multi-platform. How can they make Kinect an integral part of the game (in say... Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Battlefield, etc.) when that would leave the PS3 game inoperable? They can't, so they are left to resorting to gimmicks for the XBox version of the multi-platform game, if they use it at all.
The PS4 will (from everything I have read) come bundled with the PlayStation Eye. It's not required though and I know if I do ever purchase a PS4, it will never get plugged in. I may smash it just for fun.
The Kinect sold 24 million units. There hasn't been anything but gimmicky games made for it, even though they KNOW they have a crowd of 24 million Kinects.
Why does the Wii not get talked about this gen? It's fun. There are decent games, but it's a console built off of a gimmick that caters to a casual crowd. That's the trend Microsoft seems to be following as well.
If they want to cater to a larger audience by bringing in "casual gamers" like the Wii has, that's fine (and a smart business decision) - but they should be treated like the Wii.
Again, they are speaking out of both sides of their mouth when they say their core focus is gamers. That is complete and utter bull****. If their focus was on the "gamers" they say it is, there would be no uproar about their reveal or console features.badComment

Re: Xbox One
Mainly all the ones pissing and moaning (maybe a pinch of paranoia as well) about everything they don't want. At least they're gonna man up to their word and not buy the console and good for them for doing so.
This console can't be released soon enough, I want one today.Comment
