Re: Xbox One
I just want to hear what Sony's offering and figure it out then. I still love the Xbox entertainment/tv stuff, but with my current systems not getting much use I want to find a next gen system actually worth it.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
What makes me wonder is that $500 is a price aimed at the hardcore gaming market, but MS is doing their best to completely alienate that market prior to launch....
Not sure how many casual gamers will hop on this for $500, you know?Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
Plenty of people bought the 360 for $400 on release. So basically you are paying $100 more than that and it includes the Kinect and the updated technology. Like I mentioned before in this thread, Microsoft doesn't make hardly any money on these consoles, so you can bet they didn't make the price $500 just to make money. It's probably close to what it costs to make it.
We'll see how the complaining changes if the PS4 is the same or higher.
This is about the price I expected and I think PS4 will be similar, so I'm not shocked by this, but it is a lot of money. I haven't ruled out getting one of them at launch, I'll wait for more info, but so far I don't really see anything that makes me want to spend $500.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Xbox One
Yea, but I don't care about the Kinect, so having that included doesn't make it a better deal for me.

I feel it is too soon still for next gen and the current consoles are still doing it for me. I still have so many good games to play on them.
I'm sure the XBOX one and the PS4 will be solid consoles but I'm not going to shell $500 for them when I still have plenty of life left on the 360 and PS3.
I'm just not really feeling thirsty for a new console right now, anyone else feel this way?Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

Re: Xbox One
It's not so much the new console, it's dumping the thousands of dollars I spent on this generation.
Consider all that we have bought (I know I'm on the PlayStation side, but still):
- System
- Games
- Digital downloads
- DLC in general
- Online memberships/subscriptions
- Blu-rays (for PS3 people I guess)
- Accessories (Kinect, PS Eye, Rock Band crap, extra controllers & other peripherals)
Those really do end up being a lot of things. I'm not saying all of these things would phase out, but most of them would. When 4K media becomes available along with TV's, will I dump my 300+ Blu-rays for them? Maybe, over time... but ten years of that format won't feel that gratifying if so.
I was hoping these consoles wouldn't release until 2016. Re: Xbox One
Yea, I mean, I'm more excited for the new GTA than anything to do with either of these consoles. And I don't find sports games stale yet like I did at the end of Xbox and PS2 era.
Maybe my opinion will change as the hype grows and more info is released.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Xbox One
Was going to pre order an xbox one for my son but since Im going the PS4 route, I didnt want to have to buy 2 versions of the same game so I canceled my preorder. He has a Vita and wants to go Sony to start out with next gen so we will both be getting a PS4. Eventually, we may get an xbox one but at launch, we will be going the PS4 route.PSN: ckarlic

Re: Xbox One
The Last of us is going to be incredible, GTAV, AC Black Flag, Splinter cell Blacklist, and im just naming a few. when I play The Show on PS3 I look at that game and always say to myself I dont need it to be any better than this.
I have a ton of games I have for both the 360 and PS3 its crazy, and they cost so little now.
I also get free games for being a PS Plus member, and now the 360 is going to release 2 free games a month. I just Dl Deus Ex on the PS3 for free
Right now I have all I can eat on the current systems. Looking at this I can see how staying on the current consoles is going to be very joyful for us, because of the new consoles coming out.
The only thing that can truly temp me is if the sports games are on a whole other planet, not just eye candy.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

Re: Xbox One
For those who pre-ordered, did you pre-order the "Day-1" Version? I had to change my original order because it wasn't the "Day-1"
Supposedly you get some extra goodies from MS if you order the Day-1 versionComment

We know the Xbox One will cost $499 and the rumor is 3 skus for PS4 ranging from $399 to $599, but does anyone know the cost of the next gen games?
I think that would be a huge factor.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)
