Just wondering about this voice recognition. Can more than one profile be active? Say the wife and I are sitting in the living room....I say, "I want to watch the ballgame", she says "home shopping network"....and the banter continues back and forth between the two of us. This could get ugly.

Re: Xbox One
Microsoft is making a serious assumption that most gamers don't get up off their couches.
I have no use for Fantasy Football implementation or Kinect. And I'm not trying to be making hand gestures and speaking to my console just to change TV channels.
I think a lot of what they showed is cool but it fits the demographic of someone who doesn't do much besides sitting in front of their TV.
Skype is for family and people I'm close to. Not randoms that I game with.
I respect the direction they're trying to head in. But unless Sony really drops the ball come E3, today's presentation made my decision clear.
And as someone who owns shares of MSFT, I hope they make a killing on XBox One. But I don't need 3/4 of what they were showing me.Comment

Re: Xbox 720
Saw this comment on one of MajorNelson's blog posts:

Very disappointing, Major. I don't care about backwards compatibility, but the lock on sharing game discs is a terrible idea. I have two kids in my house, and we all share the same Xbox, and each person has his own gamertag. There's no way I'm buying a new game and then spending another $20 just so that my kids can play it. What moron came up with that idea?Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: Xbox One
They completely lost me with charging people to install on their consoles after the first time. Nonsense.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Alot of these deal breaking rumors have turned out to be false. Im hoping this one is as well. The concept just does too much damage to the gamer.
Random note, Im not all that excited about the controller. Looks too blocky. However I love that they put a more reasonable d pad on the thing and I love the thumbsticks. Those things may cost 60 bucks a pop though.
EDIT: on a more closer look its not a bad as I thought on the blocky scale.Last edited by kingkilla56; 05-21-2013, 05:16 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
having the kinect be mandatory to function is ****ing stupid for many reasons
For example
You know darn well some hacker (be it anon or someone else) will find a hack for the camera which leads to privacy issues
I dont want to be yelling and waving my arms around when i play
Say it malfunctions NOW i just have a ($400+) PAPERWEIGHT XBOX and have to speend $100+ to make it useable againComment

Re: Xbox One
Sony's approach is a more gamer centric system. While Microsoft's system will be more of an entertainment system. Just depends on which one you prefer.Redskins, Lakers, Orioles, UNC Basketball , and ND Football

Re: Xbox One
It can be a good indicator of public opinion. Up until the consoles are released and for a while after it's going to be a console war with each company trying to have theirs be the best selling one. When your stock jumps 9% after your competitor's reveal, it's a pretty good indication that the scales have tipped in your favor.Fan of....
