the rumors of always online are actually TRUE

    http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-does-requ...ay-o-509164109

"For single-player games that don’t require connectivity to Xbox Live, you should be able to play those without interruption should your Internet connection go down. Blu-ray movies and other downloaded entertainment should be accessible when your Internet connection may be interrupted. But the device is fundamentally designed to be expanded and extended by the Internet as many devices are today."
    And here's the bombshell:
Kotaku: If I’m playing a single player game, do I have to be online at least once per hour or something like that? Or can I go weeks and weeks?
    Harrison: I believe it’s 24 hours.
Kotaku: I’d have to connect online once every day.
    Harrison: Correct.
what if I cant get online in 24 hours MS, then what happens? do you lock my xbox?

What the heck happend to Illumaroom? Did it get eliminated or is it just going to come later like they announced a while back?

Also, in regards to the Kinect, will the new Kinect not require 6 feet of clearance space between the camera and the gamer? I only have about 4 1/2 to 5 foot and thus why I never bought a Kinect.

And in regards to the integrated TV with your DVR/cable box...yeah that is awesome but I'll bet that's going to be a headache to get working right with all the combinations of tvs, set top boxes, DVRs, etc out there....

As a Google TV user I know mine required a good bit of fiddling with to get it to work right with all my stuff in multiple rooms. I kind of doubt the average user would have as much patience as me though...

I don't like that either. This is just the first step of getting content out of the people's hands and into the developers hands. I've said this whole cloud and storing offline, "convenience" stuff would go this route. You won't own anything, only pay a large fee to have the right to rent it basically...pretty scary if this indeed does come true IMO..

In 10 years I wouldn't be surprised to see no one own any media and each time you use anything you have to pay a small fee. And God help you if your net goes down, you have NOTHING.

All Xbox One units will ship with a Kinect sensor, and the Xbox One must have the new Kinect sensor plugged in at all times in order to run, said Microsoft representatives in a Q&A about the console.

I already sold all my 360 stuff a few weeks ago to get maximum value out of it before everyone starts selling them or a price drop on current bundles hits. I may just have to just enjoy my collection (backlog) of games going back to the NES and buy other old games like an old man still listening to his 1950's jazz records.
Same thing for me except its Sony that cant really do much to sway me as far as release day. I'll probably own both eventually but unless theres some major difference that affects me as a gamer I'll be XBOX only at the start.
I prefer LIVE and MS's online over psn by a large margine.
Sold my PS3 a while back to get the same benefit of better $ in return.

Just shows both systems will hopefully be ok as not everyone is the same. .

This is up there with the Neo Geo for worst value in a console ever!

The Kinect is a sweet engineering feat that is completely worthless as an interface. Please, shove it down my throat MS! Make me pay an extra $100 if I want your new console. Oh and if it breaks then my console doesnt work? Eff You lol.

The used game stuff I have to assume Sony will do something along the same lines so I'm not going to pile on MS for that. But the always (24hrs max) online bit is a joke.

Needless to say I doubt I will buy an Xbox one.
