All Sony said about used games was the really vague "We're going to do the right thing" for developers and consumers. They didn't deny any type of block.
Why did Microsoft have that stupid used game fee? Do they realize that friends can share games/hang out and one person brings over Halo since his friend doesn't have or what not. Now, both have to bring the "Xbox One" which is a huge hassle instead of just bringing a game case, which can easily fit in a backpack for carrying at school.
You can lug it around if you want, or you can just transfer over your profile like they said you could and play it for free. Up to you I'd say.

I am loling at the people who are saying "It's not even a game console anymore! It's a cable box!!!"

Do these people not understand that things can have multiple functions?

Maybe it's always been like this. When they first put a camera on a cell phone did everyone say "WTF! It's not even a phone anymore!!" ?

But who's making that system? Even Sony is not making what you just described. Even the PS3 was more than what you described so I'm not sure what people are getting all upset about. It's ok to be a fan of either or but some of this talk that people are having just seems like a lot of NOTHING.

It's becoming irritating IMO. Those very same people have 360's and PS3's that also have multiple functions. The games are not going anywhere and both systems were ultimately designed to be entertainment units with gaming as their main mode of entertainment, but not the only mode.

              Re: Xbox One

I'm getting both systems eventually, the only question I had was which I was getting first. After today's presentation, I'm leaning toward getting the Xbox first, and the PS4 in time for the new edition of The Show.

I'm intrigued at what the Microsoft/NFL relationship is. I hope there is a way to watch out of market games through the Xbox that will be cheaper than Sunday Ticket.

No more XBLA/Indie game sections. They're all just games now on the Xbox One. Won't be separated from on disc games.

I heard when you buy a game, you have to enter a one time code to start the install, so it appears that you do need an internet connection to play games.

Just finished the Reveal and all I have to say is.................

                    SOLD!!!!!

I loved pretty much everything I saw. The "living room" stuff, the fantasy stuff, etc. Everything sounds amazing.

The EA trailer did leave me feeling a little underwhelmed, but I definitely want to see/hear more from them. Also I'm not a COD fan at all, but Ghosts looks awesome. Are we really going to get an quality, in-depth, single player experience from COD? *Insert mind blown gif here

                      Any more news on smartglass?

Edit:@ Jeremym480 I agree . I liked the ps4 and was sold on it but the media and cable etc... Stuff from the Xbox one is so cool. My game system can connect to every device in my room lol. I hope this thing can play blu-ray movies too. Since I play mostly cross platform games ( GTA 4, NBA, NFL, COD etc) exclusives don't really appeal to me. Also a very lucrative partnership with the NFL should be interesting for release time.

Well every single console I've ever played in my life was that system. I could put in my game and play it. I didn't need to be online and I didn't need to pay some fee because someone owned it before I did, or because I'm borrowing it from a friend.

My issue is with that stuff - I could not possibly care less about any of the other functions. I didn't watch the conference, and I know nothing other than you have to pay to play a game not attached to your profile and you have to be online at least once a day in order to play any sort of game.

It may not be an issue for you - and that's wonderful, but some people don't like it. But, like I said - I'm not really upset about it either, because it's going to save me money; and the Indy gaming scene on the PC has been phenomenal lately... Enough so that I've hardly bought anything for my 360 in the last year or two anyway. Although, I do wish Spelunky would release the 360 version as a Windows game.

I just read an article on this and I don't feel like reading up this whole thread so can anyone tell me if the integrated WIFI is like the PS3 in that you don't need a connection and can just set it up remotely online?

If so, then it makes the choice between the next generation playstation and this a lot harder than it was beforehand.
