Picked up the Elite console this morning at Gamestop.
After treading my XB1, an extra xbox 360 and 3 games, it was $87. And got the free game too.

What do I need when I trade in the system? Just the xbox, power cord, and HDMI? Do I need the controller and the original box? TIA

you need the controller, the console, the power brick and cable, and the hdmi cable

It is a fine looking and feeling piece of hardware. Still setting up system so I haven't played a game with it yet.

I had TR (50% in) and Fallout. Went with Black Ops 3, figuring at least I'd have time for some MP. But maybe not with Star Wars.

Nobody is going to deny the deal last week was better due to the extra controller or gift card from other places.

But this deal is very important for MS as this is their way of countering at least a bit the BF ps4 bundle..

Star Wars BF PS4 bundle gives you the game and a black standard 500gb console for 400 with a picture of dark vader....Unless you are a super geek Star Wars fan that is not a very good looking console or deal when

XBOX One gives you for same price a 1tb TR bundle with Battlefront of choice of any other game

Or for extra 100 you get the elite bundle with the superior elite controller and BF or any other game of choice.

Or get the Fall Out bundle for same price with Fall Out and BF or any other game

All those are better deals with more value

Very smart from MS this week for sure.

We all know that PS4 BF bundle will sell a lot but this gives MS a reason to also consider XB with the better deal

Agreed but seeing all of these deals BEFORE Black Friday has led to what will be the most underwhelming Black Friday in a long time when it comes to console deals. It's weird that I was able to get a better deal three weeks BEFORE Black Friday. Seriously, I don't even remember the last time that happened. Late October and November is usually slow going into Black Friday but this year, it's been the opposite. Oh well, it worked out great for me and Black Friday will still get me my new PS4 and a bunch of games for $20 or less at Best Buy that I have been waiting to be on sale.

2015 has definitely been a great year for console gaming and 2016 looks even more stacked than 2015.

Top 3 games for me without question this year

Witcher 3
Bloodborne

In that order

Nice. For me thus far, it's The Witcher 3, Mad Max and AC Syndicate. Not counting ROTTR yet since I haven't finished it yet but I do think that at worse, it will be second behind The Witcher 3.

Will be picking up Bloodborne on Black Friday at Best Buy and still have a few other games like Fallout 4 and Dragon Quest Heroes (PS4) to play but Fallout 4 is most likely going to be the last game I play before the games that I want to play come out in 2016 (Deus Ex and FC Primal) because I know that it's a long game and want to play through some other games first.

Halo is very important brand for MS and I feel that deal with all those retailers was more important to them then black friday which it looks that way right now.

Black Friday has no aaa game coming out so it needed to be done prior

That deal you mentioned was for Halo 5 without calling it that and this week is for Battlefront without mentioning that

Everything about the new Tomb Raider looks amazing. Before I pick it up I need to play the definitive edition first. I missed out when it was free with games with gold but I was able to snag a digital code from eBay for $14!

There are so many games to to play right now it's crazy. Great times.

My second favorite game of 2013 when it first came out on xb360

It was close second to last of us....Last of us won due to having better story but gameplay was better on TR

This new version on xb1 is amazing

I'm debating which single-player game to buy in January (after I clear some backlog). It's between TR, JC3, and FO4. Leaning toward TR, right now. Sounds awesome.

All respect to Fallout 4, I own it and it's going to be awesome, but it really doesn't look like, or play like, a killer next-gen game. Of course not everything is about graphics and such, and it's not awful by any means but just saying. And of course you're going to get hours and hours of playtime out of Fallout 4 as it's an incredibly large and open game.

It really does depends upon what you want from a game. I imagine Fallout 4 will be like 3 was in the sense that it's not really terribly rewarding until you build your character up some and get really into it for the long haul.

Whereas on the flip side Rise of the Tomb Raider looks, plays and sounds just like a really next-gen amazing game that is immediately enjoyable from the get go.

On the downside for that, comparative to Fallout 4 I'm sure you'll get through Rise much quicker as its a more linear type game.

I think you can't really go wrong with either title from my play time with both (about 2 to 3 hours in each one) but it just depends upon what you fancy.

Can't really speak to JC3 so didn't mention it above..but that one does look awesome as well..

I went with Fallout 4 for now, because I know it will take time to beat...

I'm waiting on a sale of some kind for Rise of TR, because I know I'd probably beat in a week or two...and in FO4 I'll be playing that 2 months from now and still barely 50%..
