All respect to Fallout 4, I own it and it's going to be awesome, but it really doesn't look like, or play like, a killer next-gen game. Of course not everything is about graphics and such, and it's not awful by any means but just saying. And of course you're going to get hours and hours of playtime out of Fallout 4 as it's an incredibly large and open game.

It really does depends upon what you want from a game. I imagine Fallout 4 will be like 3 was in the sense that it's not really terribly rewarding until you build your character up some and get really into it for the long haul.

Whereas on the flip side Rise of the Tomb Raider looks, plays and sounds just like a really next-gen amazing game that is immediately enjoyable from the get go.

On the downside for that, comparative to Fallout 4 I'm sure you'll get through Rise much quicker as its a more linear type game.

I think you can't really go wrong with either title from my play time with both (about 2 to 3 hours in each one) but it just depends upon what you fancy.

Can't really speak to JC3 so didn't mention it above..but that one does look awesome as well..

My wife and I have two small children (ages 4 and 3 months), so it takes me forever to finish games with my sporadic gaming sessions. I think I'll wait on Fallout until around summertime, when I've had my fill of this year's sports titles and can really sink some time in to it. JC3 looks really fun, but I'm in the mood for a more narrative experience. TR seems to be just right for what I'm looking for.

Yeah, that's actually one of the more attractive aspects for me, at the moment. My wife and I have two small children (ages 4 and 3 months), so it takes me forever to finish games with my sporadic gaming sessions. FO4 is a ton of fun for me, but it's not for everyone. I love its style of open world exploring. I can also play in chunks of half an hour or so, and save whenever I want, so it fits into my playstyle better.

Plus Fallout needs it, given that you can die anytime in an instant.

I can't always play longer late at night, but even a 20-30 minute chunk is useful. Sometimes with games like TR you get in a mission that takes longer....

I've played 2 sessions of Fallout where I haven't figured out how to get food for Sanctuary, gaming ADD is setting in already lol.

I can confirm this.
Starting tomorrow if you purchase an X1 you get a free game.
Now if you (like me) just bought a system... my guy here said I just had to bring in receipt and I can grab a game since I just bought the system

Probably to make up for the shot Microsoft took at Sony last week regarding backwards compatibility. Personally, I like the shots they take at each other. Reminds me of when I used to watch wrestling when it was WWF vs WCW every Monday night. It was a lot of fun and since the internet wasn't as big as it is now, it would be an actual shock when you see wrestlers jumping ship and switching sides.

I personally don't see it as a big deal whatsoever because despite the marketing deal Bethesda has with Microsoft, PS4 has twice the user install base so if anything, third party games are expected to sell better on PS4.

My far bigger concern is for ROTTR. Granted, those sales are just for UK and im far more interested in November's NPD to see where the game charts in NA. I'm really hoping that the game sells at least 500K-1m total for the month of November.

Everyone here knows that im a Sony and PS4 gamer but ROTTR is ******* great and keeps getting better as I progress through the game. Granted, in 22 hours, im only 30% overall through the game and have a ways to go yet but as of right now, ROTTR is already hitting my 9 mark and can easily match the 9.5 I would personally rate The Witcher 3 and could replace it as my game of the year.

Like I said in other posts, the two major losers in this deal will be Microsoft since rumors have it that they paid $10m for the game to be a timed exclusive and more importantly, Crystal Dynamics. Microsoft can easily absorb the loss and have already gone the other way in regards to exclusive deals and content but Crystal Dynamics is an excellent and underrated developer and I have been a fan of theirs since the mid 90's with Gex and Slam N Jam on 3DO.

Since Square Enix got paid upfront, im really hoping that regardless of how bad the game sells, they don't take it out on Crystal Dynamics because they sure as hell don't deserve anything but praise for the game.

Do you really think that the company is going to care at this point. Do you really think that TR on PS4 was going to make 10 million in sales or even as a multi plat

MS paid them a lump sum that would not only simulate any PS4 sales but multi plat sales as well. This was done by MS to help sell the brand to customers XBOX brand and sell consoles.

CD is going to get a huge check from MS and also get paid for when PC and PS4 eventually release even though it wont be big numbers there a year later.

What the idiot did on twitter is not the same as what UK XB did because they did not mention Sony at all even though we know what they were referring to.

THe only reason MS UK did that was to get a dig at Sony for their original message back at E3 Sony announcement.

MS has been nothing but class towards Sony and so has Phil

Sony on the other hand not so much...And I did not even tweet you the reply from Drive Club dev who went on to retweet that message and throw his 2 cents in by saying not to worry that it will get big sales for CD when it hits PS4 next year.

This thread has been a non-stop argument between these two...it's getting old.

On topic, I love the new dashboard. I see a lot of people do not like it but I find it so much easier to navigate. Specifically friends list and parties.
