I feel the same way. I have mine hooked up in the man cave and it is perfect. Can't wait to see how the apps and kinect functionality improve over time.

Sure, here are some tips, but also give me the make & model of your set top box (STB) because I may be able to provide more info.
          1) Set your STB explicitly to 720p
          2) Make sure you have a high speed HDMI cable. This doesn't mean some $50 cable, just a legitimate high-speed HDMI cable.
          3) Try turning surround sound (dolby) off on your STB to see if that improves things.
          4) Try a hard reboot of the cable box (pull power cord)
          5) Try a hard reboot of the Xbox One (press+hold power button)

Let me know how it goes. We haven't seen many instances of this happening, but I've heard some users complain, so we want to look into it.

Just curious - does the Xbox One only do the fast forward, pause, rewind, etc of my STB because I have DirecTV or does it do that for all, or most, of the cable providers?

Because one reason I wasn't that thrilled about the TV aspect of the Xbox One is I had heard to operate your DVR you couldn't use your Xbox One Kinect and that sorta took the air out of my proverbial sails. Was very happy and surprised it did work with that.

Of course it can't access the recordings on command or delete and that sort of thing so maybe I misunderstood what aspects wouldn't work.

Or maybe I'm just lucky I have DirecTV?

Right now the experience we provide is the same for all providers, so you're not a lucky one

Right now, everyone in the US can use the transport control and channel change functionality.

Ok cool....do you know if there are going to be future attempts to further integrate Xbox One with the DVR? So that, maybe in the future I could say "Xbox go DVR" and it'd pull up a list of my shows and I could say "Xbox Select" and then "Play show 1"?

If you guys could get that it'd complete the experience..

                      Studbucket-

If I have my Xbox set to 1080p (res of my tv) the Xbox is upscaling the signal from 720p/1080i correct? My TV has a great upscaler but there is no way to use that instead right? Maybe that's why some people see "degradation" in picture is if the Xbox 's chip isn't "as good" as the TV 's chip.

In the future would there ever be a way to have "pure" passthrough? Maybe not since TV is running at the same time as games etc.

The model number is Cisco CHS 335 HD STB and im on Verizon Fios... Ive got the box set to 720p and 1080i, and 1080p.. so I can only have it set to 720p for it to work properly? I already did the hard boot on both the Xbox and the Cable box. Surround sound is off and Stereo is on..

It's best I not promise anything 1 way or another until we announce a feature. We are very aware of the promise that DVR integration has, but we need to balance that against all the other work we may do.

Because the HDMI wire is not physically connected from in to out, there is no possible way to do "pure passthrough", we have to process the video.

No, you can use 1080i/1080p (though no STBs really do 1080p, it's just 1080i), I just recommended 720p over 1080i because you'll often see higher quality video (less bobbing, etc) as it requires less processing.

If you're still having issues, then we'll just have to investigate more. We have FIOS out here, but I don't think we have any Cisco boxes, they are all Motorola. I'll see if we can investigate or work with Verizon to test.

Yeah, still the same low quality after switching to 720P.. I'm going to try to connect it through my HDMI switch to see if that may solve the problem..

Whatever happened to that feature announced pre-launch where they said if you got stuck in a game you could cede control to a friend and have them help you through a difficult are? I'm not talking about sharing your screen obviously but actually allowing the friend to take control of the character in the game via the net.

As an older and impatient gamer who often abandons games when I get "stuck" this was high on my list of features, however I've not seen anyone talk about this...

Is there a way to do it now or is this something that they said they'd add later or is that feature just a forgotten memory??
