    If that doesn't work

    2. reset your xbox to Factory default settings - you won't lose your game saves but will have to go through the setup process again and redownload any games, apps

The fix for me was #2... Took me about 5 minutes and I didn't lose anything...

Yep, #1 will work because what you're encountering is a hang in the IR driver. Known issue, fix in progress.

Different issue than ODogg, which appears to have been a corrupted app issue.

I've been able to clear the TV issue by just doing a full reboot of the system by either turning the power off then unplugging the power cable or by setting the xbox to "power saver" mode and turning it off. Either way it's fixed when it comes back.

        Helic,

Black screen is a known issue. Can you do a few things?
        1) Give me your make, model, and provider of set top box?
        2) Try a hard reboot of your Cable box (pull the power cord) while the Xbox One is on.
        3) Try a hard reboot of the Xbox One (press+hold power button)
        4) Set your STB explicitly to 1080i or 720p
        5) Turn off Dolby/Surround sound on your STB

I was having some issues the other night and it ended up being a low battery so I had to plug the charge and play cord in.....are you using a battery pack, it's really hard since they have no battery indicator or any notification to let you know your battery is getting low.

I had the same thing happen to me on the 360 while playing NHL 14. I had no idea my opponent could here me. I scored a goal, and start screaming "Goal!" in an obnoxious manner to my dog, just playing around.

Later, my opponent scored a goal and started screaming "goal!" and asking me how I liked that. I would never have cheered like that had I known i was chatting. I set the Kinect to not be used for game chat after that.

Microsoft Debated Removing Xbox One's Disc Drive: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/01/...nes-disc-drive

Microsoft has revealed there was discussion about removing the Xbox One's disc drive, making the console digital-only.

Speaking to OXM, Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer revealed that even as late as E3 2013 there was discussion about whether the company "could get away with" removing the disc drive, though ultimately the size of games meant it didn't make sense.

"Obviously, after the announcement and E3, there was some feedback about what people wanted to change," he explained. "There was a real discussion about whether we should have an optical disc drive in Xbox One or if we could get away with a purely disc-less console, but when you start looking at bandwidth and game size, it does create issues.

When you start looking at bandwidth and game size, it does create issues.

"So we decided - which I think was the right decision - to go with the Blu-ray drive and give the people an easy way to install a lot of content. From some of those original thoughts, you saw a lot of us really focusing on the digital ecosystem you see on other devices - thinking of and building around that."

One of the big issues many people have with digital-only games is one of ownership: having a physical disc confers a reassuring sense of possession for gamers that games you purchase digitally can often lack.

It's likely the final decision had something to do with the company's about-face on many issues last year, especially the revised decision to allow Xbox One owners to play the console without an internet connection.
