Re: Xbox One
So different rules depending on the system being talked about?
So we can not discuss the differences in the systems in a civil manner (which we have been). The whole thing was "blown up" by you because it was brought up we need to see E3 so comparisons to the 2 systems can be made before a decision is made.
Again I have not done anything innapropriate and you are making rules up as you go along.
I'll simply move along and anxiously await E3 and wish I could use the ignore button.Last edited by Skyboxer; 06-09-2013, 01:57 AM.Joshua:

Re: Xbox One
We also have this XBOX thread yet the PS4 thread is filled with posts including some by you, that have gone on and on about the XBOX1.

That's exactly what I said. Make no mistake I was asking YOU a question, and not telling people in the thread that they couldn't compare consoles.
Its too bad you took exception to the question because it was a legitimate question and statement, but going on and getting all emotional about it, bringing up the wiiu and being all over the place, even trying to say in your own words that im some kind of Sony fanboy.
Im not here for a little console war, im a mod, and at times I see certain patterns and I address them if I feel the need to, and in this case I am addressing YOU.
You also can't ignore button me so that's not going to change anything either way. Post all you want, ask all the questions you want within the TOS.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Using your example, if someone says "the iphone is too closed of a platform, I'd never buy a phone whose ecosystem is that locked down" and someone replies "I hear they aren't going to let you root that new Motorla X phone". Well, WTF does one comment have to do with the other? Not a damn thing. A statement that you won't buy an iphone isn't a conditional statement, so it doesn't matter what that Motorola X Phone does, if they lock everything down then you wouldn't buy that either.
If somebody says "I won't buy an Xbone because of the ridiculous DRM", it doesn't matter what PS4 does because that wasn't a conditional statement. By that statement it stands to reason if PS4 does the same DRM, they wouldn't buy that either, they'll buy a WiiU, or a PC, or wait and see what Steambox will be about, etc, etc. Bringing "you don't know what PS4 is going to do yet" isn't a retort to not buying an Xbone, it's a non sequitur that is more than just a little console wars-ish.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I don't know how you don't talk about the X1 and the PS4 separately. I feel like most of us on here are trying to decide which console is going to be the console we use for the next 5-10 years, Comparing systems is just what we use to help us determine that. I have had a Xbox since the Xbox came out but the design decisions have made me very angry so at this point in leaning PS4. We don't live in a vacuum, the PS4 and X1 are both VG consoles and they come out at the same time. Comparisons are going to happen.
Like I said before, don't be fanboys. This bickering is because you guys have a system bias, Pick the best console based on your needs and the hardware. Sony and Microsoft just wants your money and nothing more, Brand loyalty makes lemmings of us all.
That being said, After launch and each system has found its ground, continuing the X1vs PS4 talk would be trolling, this is just us trying to make a informed decision. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Its simple really and I know you understand. Its not relevant especially when you keep beating the same card over and again in a thread about a completely different topic.
...then to go on as if im some kind of Sony fanboy isn't helping your case either.. so post on topic or continue to regurgitate the exact same thing (knowing good and well Sony is presenting at E3 on Monday) if you will, but don't say I didn't warn you.
Not that your alone in this, the entire Internet is behind you.

Re: Xbox One
How is making everything a restriction a good thing? That doesn't make any sense...
It's still going to be the same situation in the gaming industry, except worse in terms of turning a profit. If your game is ****ing terrible NO ONE is going to buy it. That's not changing. With used games seemingly dying out you'll see even LESS people try new games out that may or may not suck which will in turn lead to less innovation and more Sequel-itis.
I don't even want to think about how big the video game review industry is going to get because of this...
I wouldn't be surprised if Kickstarter was used much more frequently once the next gen hits.Comment

Sorry 23, but your posting is indeed making you seem like a Sony Fanboy. Your hating and taking the negative out of everything MS.

I've mostly stayed out of the conversation up to this point becaue their are a number of posters who have pretty much articulated my thoughts and concerns. I honestly don't see those concerns being born of bias towards either console in general but rather the specific issues regarding privacy and restrictions of the consumer. Like Duke said, I don't see how the restrictions Microsoft is placing into it's product is good for the consumer, even if I could get over the privacy stuff.Last edited by trobinson97; 06-09-2013, 12:06 PM.PS: You guys are great.

-Always on. This is the one that bothered me most, as I have on occasion traveled with my 360 for work road trips. However, if the trade off is actually cloud based gaming and better perform ace in worlds, etc, I think in the long run I will be okay. Frankly, since the iPad has hit its stride, I haven't even considered traveling with the 360. If my cable goes out for a few hours or even a day or 2, I will be okay. I can find other things to do. I can see where the hardcores could be concerned though.
-Kinect always on. This is just ridiculous. There are way more concerning ways that the government may be "watching" us then a friggin game console. People that champion Privacy concerns by choosing a console are, IMO, totally out of touch. If you want to do something about encroachments of privacy, don't use Kinect as a bullet point. Its just stupid.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Oh boy. Here we go. SMH
You mean other ways to spy on us like smart phones that play games, and computers that play games?
Not TV connected multimedia consoles that play games?
Gotcha!
