He'll buy the 4 on release day and return it the following Thursday claiming the console "wasn't right for him."

10 years of flip flopping ensues.

      Re: Xbox One

The release date didn't really matter much to me, I'm honestly a bit more pumped for the PS4 dropping on the 15th.

But I definitely didn't see the Xbox One dropping in EU before the PS4. Smart move on their part, really nice for those who pre-ordered over there & their FIFA bundled in.

That was a FF reference? I thought I remembered somebody actually canceled/switched their PS4 pre-order after Sony announced the release date because they were hoping for October?

It wasn't a FF reference, but it certainly works out that way. I was talking about the guy you just brought up.

Hmmm. I cant figure out why MS would settle on this date unless they have production concerns. If they wouldve chosen the 1st or the 8th, they wouldve been able to rope in people who are impatient and have no issue with paying $100 bucks more.

I mean I wouldn't call them production concerns. I think it is common sense to assume the X1 would have released earlier than the ps4 if at all possible. I am sure the last thing MS wants to do is risk botching their launch just to beat Sony. Especially considering all the hardware issues with the 360.

Probably hurts the PS4 resale market for a week, impatient people who miss a PS4 then hoping they can snag an Xbox One for less than a marked up PS4.

My question is does 2 weeks really matter when it comes to hardware or production issues?

The only thing I can think of is that they wanted to be the closest to Black Friday...? Have this new console in everyone's homes on Thanksgiving, families see it, mad trolley dash ensues on BF? About the only thing I can reason.

Also today rumors that some EU countries are getting Forza 5 bundled in with DOE of the XBO...still can't believe NA is getting the shaft on this as far as a bundle goes. Basically we're being punished for buying the console and being the majority of pre-orders and sales, ridiculous that you wouldn't actually reward that.

You give away things to get people to buy not give away things to people who already bought.

Depends on how many they can produce in a day. Let's say their last day of production for launch is 2 weeks before the launch day and they can produce 1,000 consoles per day. That's another 14,000 consoles, which is about 7 million in gross revenue.

Now, those are completely made up production numbers, but I think they actually scale higher.

it may not to anyone, but im on full board like I said with the one....im just sitting back waiting for the 22nd now.

Not flipping this time, if I feel the need for a PS4, I'll just added next year , the switching back and forth does not exist in my thinking anymore at all.
