Plus, I don't have to pay for shipping with them, and Amazon is always solid.

Anyone been in a similar situation? If anyone here has gone with Gamestop, is it smarter to order from a local store, or from their online store? Thanks!
My advice? Since Microsoft is continually changing their stance, I would take a "wait and see" approach on when they drop their price, drop their kinnect bundle, and whatever other goodies they may attach just to keep up with their damage control.

Maybe you and the masses can have them cut the price to say $350?

Uh. The console is still 100 bucks more and a lot of people have already preorder the competition. Preorders can change but DRM isnt going to cause hundreds of thousands of people switching them.

Well, the thing is, I was already going to get the console. I was going to do the wait and see approach for a little while, but I've already had enough friends pre-order it that I feel more comfortable getting it at release now. So at this point, I'm just wondering how I want to go about it.

It still costs $100 more. That's not a drop in the bucket for a lot of people.

I think it will balance things out more, keep the people who were jumping ship to PS4 because of the DRM policies. I don't really think it gives MS a clear edge.

In a way I agree. I think the change is welcome by the majority though.. Obviously.

The question that now comes to mind for me is.. What next? And I'm not talking about the X1 either. MS clearly wanted to get the jump on making games and content digital, as that is most likely the future. Whether or not it is too early for it, we don't know. That future lies in the hands of the companies such as Sony and MS, as one day, things will change.

None of us, as far as I know, are aware of how much MS invested into this idea. The damage may have already been done on the consumer end, but does this also to damage to their plans in the future?

Also, I do not see any reverse on the Kinect bundle, but maybe a possible price drop, but not too the PS4 level, it will remain the more expensive one I think. MS can't back out on two of their plans now after this, nothing worse than looking like a fool in the public eye.

I also hope this creates some major waves in the industry regarding DRM. The gaming masses just flipped a giant bird to corporate giant Microsoft and they backed down. EA, Ubisoft and ActiBlizz (most notably) HAD to be watching this.

Without getting into exclusives and small technical differences, what is the justification for the extra $100?

                    Is it Kinect addition only?

Or is there an actual functional benefit that the Xbox One will provide over the PS4 (like tv integration or whatnot)?

Really wish MS stood strong on their policy. Would've been nice to not have to switch out discs to play other games. That was a strong selling point for me actually

Here we go with "people afraid of change" rhetoric again.

I wasnt too gassed up about the sharing stuff since I dont lend my games often; and when I do, I just hand it to my friend. That feature just wasnt enough to restrict so much.

The games being tied to the cloud wasnt anything mind blowing either.

Restrictions are not the same as advancements. Don't get the two confused

I'd bet money on you still being able to do this with digital downloads

This doesn't hold back any advancement they were planning. Unless you think DRM restrictions on a physical copy of a game is advancement. You don't want to put a disk in? Buy it digitally, that easy.

EVeryone gets up in arms about the family sharing but Microsoft never even detailed what that was. Everyone was just going on speculation.

I am just excited they passed up those bs policies is all, and PS3 had the better specs than the 360 and 360 still won out. Not trying to bash the PS system at all though. Honestly I could care less who wins the console war, don't even know why I posted that lol.

Put it this way.. MS clearly know something we don't, otherwise they wouldn't of considered it an advancement themselves.

                                That's telling me something..
