If a mod makes a post saying to knock it off, knock it off. Internet Rule #1.
(Actually, #2. #1 is delete your history before you get off.)--
Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

Re: Xbox One
If this is to be believed, it could explain why Microsoft wasn't loudly touting the benefits of Family Sharing.
"First is family sharing, this feature is near and dear to me and I truly felt it would have helped the industry grow and make both gamers and developers happy. The premise is simple and elegant, when you buy your games for Xbox One, you can set any of them to be part of your shared library. Anyone who you deem to be family had access to these games regardless of where they are in the world. There was never any catch to that, they didn't have to share the same billing address or physical address it could be anyone. When your family member accesses any of your games, they're placed into a special demo mode. This demo mode in most cases would be the full game with a 15-45 minute timer and in some cases an hour. This allowed the person to play the game, get familiar with it then make a purchase if they wanted to. When the time limit was up they would automatically be prompted to the Marketplace so that they may order it if liked the game."
Not exactly revolutionary when PS+ has been doing the same thing for quite a while now.I don't get the automatic-utopian-dream-game world that people are popping up with. The family share thing was total speculation as MS never fully explained any of their features or restrictions much less why these restrictions were necessary in the first place.
If MS really wanted to give us gamers the "future" they would have done so in an approach that wasn't draconian and empowered corporations and major publishers even more. Its not anybody's fault, but Microsoft's. They had a vision that they could not project clearly or even talk about coherently.
I'd take his word over a random Pastebin post.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Either way, there had been no official explanation of what family sharing would truly entail.

Arthur Gies was also the same guy that claimed that publishers would force Sony to implement the used games restrictions as Microsoft and we all know how that claim of his turned out. When something is astonishingly wrong, narrow-minded, or confrontational it's a safe bet to assume it's from him or Ben Kuchera. When asked for proof that the game sharing wasn't just demos, he simply says "believe me or not."
I'm 50/50 on whether the pastebin stuff is real (well, it probably isn't because it seems ludicrous), but I think it's also congruent with how some of the Microsoft executive talk at E3 around family sharing was framed. I seem to recall at least one executive pitching it as a way for other people to 'try' a game. This all could have been avoided if Microsoft explained everything about the feature at the start.
It kind of falls in line with what Don Mattrick said as well:
"We imagined a new set of benefits such as easier roaming, family sharing, and new ways to try and buy games."Comment

Re: Xbox One
We have to remember too that the publishers (EA, Activision etc.) can decide on the trade in policy. It is entirely possible that they implement something along the lines of what we saw this gen with online pass and make it unfavorable to trade in a game or buy preowned.
In fact, this gen MS raised Xbox Live once in price. All other fees that came along were brought on by publishers. From DLC maps to weapons etc., publishers took advantage of things. It's very possible they cut off used games.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Re: Xbox One
What irks me about both the PS4 and X-one is lack of backward compatibility (unless I've missed something).
These are good-sized systems, and now I'll have three or four systems hooked up just to keep up with my library.
I hope MS has as high a commitment to keeping 360s on the store shelf as Sony did with the PS2.GO 'HAWKS!
