There is something about having it paid off and picking it up without anything else but picking it up. I'm currently doing it with a TV I have on layaway.

Re: Xbox One
I really doubt that this is true, the whole story seems a little far-fetched, but I haven't seen this mentioned here at all:

Re: Xbox One
[RUMOR]Microsoft Xbox One Could Possibly Feature a Powerful Discrete GPU Core Stacked Inside the APUAt Hot Chip 2013, Microsoft unveiled an overview of the SOC architecture powering their next generation Xbox One console.
Microsoft Xbox One Could Possibly Feature a Powerful Discrete GPU Core Stacked Inside the APU
"So what is this discrete GPU itself? The second wafer is supposedly a 22nm SOI design featuring 2304 to 2560 stream processors as been rumored and based off the VI architecture. VI stands for Volcanic Islands which could be another reason why the discrete GPU has been kept a secret since the new Volcanic Islands based AMD Radeon family would be officially announced during the last week of September in Hawaii. If the Xbox One GPU is possibly based on a Volcanic Islands architecture or even a Southern Islands part with around 2048 cores as the Tahiti die, then this would prove to be a massive powerhouse of graphics performance.
As soon as the NDA lifts on Volcanic Islands, we will know if this rumor is true or not, till then all we can do is speculate and wait for some official response. Lastly, there is one more proof mentioned by the source which is a link that redirects back to an Linkedin profile of AMD’s GPU Engineer Vinber Lei, who seems to have worked on Graphics Core IP Design Verification,APU/DGPU Xbox One,Playstation 4. Notice the mention of dGPU again?"
Not saying I'm buying it, yet. Just thought the board would want to be kept abreast of the rumors surrounding the console.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Wal-Mart opens it in September for the holidays and I know sears still has it. I suppose you can always get an interest free credit card and pay it off that way but I like to keep our credit cards to two cards. I also keep a savings account open and put in some money every other week for game purchases. I just like having the funds there and not in the main account.
Just preference I suppose.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

http://www.developer-tech.com/news/2...ful-ps4-maybe/There is actually another site that has a source that is not this misterX fellow. A lot of sites were picking up on the story. While they admit it seemed far fetched at first, they seemed to think it is plausible and that we may find out for certain when the alleged Non Disclosure Agreement with AMD runs out At the end of this month. The Xbox One had been in the planning stages for some time. It would definitely be interesting to say the least.http://wccftech.com/rumormicrosoft-x...cked-main-soc/

There are laptops out there that have an integrated GPU and a dGPU off to the side. The integrated GPU handles things until a demanding task (video game) comes up, then the dGPU takes over. This makes sense because it saves on battery life. I can't see how it makes any sense in a game console, especially without a separate memory pool for the dGPU.
Also, if a dGPU is in there, then the memory layout they showed us at Hot Chips was a big fat lie.Last edited by Trapper700; 09-08-2013, 09:02 AM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I had a pretty elaborate post regarding all that, but after going down deep into the rabbit hole on it (kept digging deeper & deeper into various threads & comment sections) I came to the same conclusion and decided to delete the post.
People keep saying wait till this non disclosure clause is up and we see something in late September. I'm not buying it either.
It is what it is, I'm starting to get nauseated with all the speculation. People can just make a decision on their console of choice and just go with it. I'm sure either console is going to be a fine choice for whoever.Comment
