Re: Xbox One
If I can buy an Xbox One without the stupid Kinect, then I'll definitely consider it. I hope it's true. I think it's dumb of Microsoft not to have this available day one. Although, I think I'd still be leaning towards the PS4 because of Killzone, Planetside 2, and The Order.NCAA: Virginia Cavaliers
MLB: Tampa Bay Rays, Washington Nationals
NFL: Washington Redskins

Re: Xbox One
Basically, I like apps the way they are now on PS3 and 360. There's nothing wrong with them. What I don't like is the fact that WatchESPN is only available on the Xbox. But I still have my 360 for that so it's not that big of a deal. Now if Sony can figure out a way to get it on PS4, then I don't see a need to even renew Xbox Live anymore.
I don't like the fact that Kinect is being forced upon me. The fact that I can't disconnect it or buy an Xbox One without it. It's great for people who want it but I don't want it. I don't care about saying a voice command to cut my console on or to watch TV. It's so unnecessary. If I buy an Xbox One, I'd simply cut Kinect off whenever I could since I don't care for having a camera pointed at me recording at all times and because I wouldn't be using any of its features.
I understand why Microsoft is bundling the Kinect and why they don't want people disconnecting it but I don't agree with it and it's driving me away from them. I don't like the PS Eye any better but at least Sony isn't forcing me to buy one and have it connected at all times. I like having freedom and choices, something which Microsoft has been moving away from.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Well bro it has already been confirmed that their is options in the settings to turn the Kinect off completely. Honestly there is nothing really to worry. My friend has had a kinect ever since it comes out. He uses a lot. It doesn't bother him. Again there is an option the XB1 to shut it off. I understand people don't want the kinect force on them. I myself would like to try it and have some fun with it. I think it well worth extra money. I'm looking forward to it.badComment

Re: Xbox One
Yes from what I read it can pause and even be turned off. But it can not be disconnected tho. But honest if people are worried about been spy on. Turn the cam towards the wall at night or just pull the internet cord at night. Simple as that. I'm not worrying about MS and them spying on me. If they want to record me while I'm sleeping. Then so be it. I think the Kinect will be an awesome piece for the future of gaming. And this is coming from a guy who is 35 and has gone through every gaming system made since I have been a live. From pong to 360. Just had about ever gaming system made just about. So the Kinect isn't going to bother me. I know how unplug it at night.Comment

XB-1 Pre-Orders have surpassed 360 Pre-Orders during this same time. All the hardware & game previews have been positive even with MS shooting themselves in the foot PR wise.

Xbox Community Manager Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb continued the vague pre-order stats-fest with a tweet pointing out that "Xbox One preorders are trending ahead of Xbox 360 preorders during the same time period." That stat might be a bit misleading; major retailers like EBGames didn't open up Xbox 360 pre-orders until August of 2005, for instance, and GameStop's Xbox 360 pre-orders only started the equivalent of ten days ago in 2005 if you line up the annual calendars.Comment

Brian Provinciano (Retro City Rampage) throws his two cents in:
I'm very happy to see this. After all of the developers have spoken out, they're finally listening. However, this is yet another example of them changing policy, but it sounding better than it is when the whole story is revealed. Make no mistake; while this is a great thing, it's again not the equivalent to what other platforms offer. On PS4, for example, developers can tap right into the system; use every bit of RAM and all of its power. Indies have access to everything that the AAA studios do, from platform support to development and release. The indication on Xbox One is that it's essentially XBLIG 2.0. Instead of XNA, it's Windows 8. Windows 8, which is already struggling to gain developer interest, will gain a boost from developers wishing to target the console. However, it won't be as full-fledged as published games on the system.
After my experience working with them to release on Xbox 360, I have no interest in even buying an Xbox One, let alone developing for it. The policy changes are great, but they don't undo the experience I had. I'm not ready to forget what I went through. Working with Microsoft was the unhappiest point of my career. Policies are one thing, but developer relations are another.
It's important to me that consumers don't see things as black and white. There are still strings attached to this policy change.Comment

This is incredibly misleading and would be a lot more relevant if they were available for pre order at the same time. The exact statement was that the Xbox one is outpacing Xbox 360 preorders at this date during the 360 release year. Which, since at this date the Xbox 360 had been available for preorder for a much shorter period of time (and at some retailers wat not even availabe at all for preorder for another few weeks) all this says is that the Xbone is selling more than the 360 did if you give it a significant head start. Or, to steal directly from Ars:

The Xbox One and PS4 are going to be very legitimate consoles. Both are going to offer some great next-gen features. If people are using pre-orders to determine their choice, they really need to take a class in Do My Own Research 101.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment
