That right there is exactly why. Nobody would expect you to pick up a PS4. For what it's worth, I hope you (and everyone that picks up an XBone) enjoys it. Markets suck when there's not multiple choices.

Still debating on whether or not I want to upgrade a console. Once a "must-have" game from my preferred genres comes out that may change my tune. I see nothing at launch though, which isn't too surprising.

FPS gaming is purely XBox at this point in their life (when it comes to consoles.) Plus the controller feels much more natural compared to the PS3 controller for those types of games.

Wasnt Sony saying this after year one of the last console wars. Funny how that turned out. The more expensive, more "forward thinking" device lost.

LOL, so your preference all of sudden translates to the general video gamer segment.. You're whole argument is based on WHAT you prefer. And it's so funny that you make the statement about the generation not being won in the first year, and then use that as to why Microsoft will win 5 years down the road especially considering how current gen has turned out 5-6 years down the road....

What about Xbox is so revolutionary when you really get down to it besides Kinect (which is the subject of a lot of complaints)? You ever bought a smart TV? You still have to have a cable subscription right... Have you seen Comcast XOne commercials?

It all comes down to preference, and fact is your preference or my preference or even Operation Sports' overall preference doesn't mean anything to how the preference of video game audience as a whole will turn out.

I'd suggest comparing his preference to the best selling games this past generation before dismissing them.

Only one of those games is an Xbox exclusive (Halo). The reason the others are more popular on the 360 is 1.) the 360 has a bigger install base and 2) Xbox Live is a vastly superior online system.

We dont know if #2 will still be the case next gen but it appears that more people are buying the ps4 at launch which could lead to a higher install base than the X1.

I honestly dont care who "wins" because I will have both but anyone who discounts what Sony has done so far, how MS has shot itself in the foot and the fact that launch numbers matter long term is fooling themselves.

Yeah, I didn't jump into the rest cause it's general console wars, the eternal back and forth . There's no right and wrong with the prognosticating, if they're not both successful we all lose. Even considering the exclusives those archetypes are what define console gaming now and for the foreseeable future.

I wasn't speaking as if my opinion is the end all to all past and present arguments. It's just my own personal opinion. You are entitled to believe whatever you want, use the information thats out there to interpret the data and make your own judgement. Just as I am able to do the same.

You can't just throw the Kinect out of the argument though. It's a piece of technology that is an essential part of the Xbox One. To say it's the subject of a lot of complaints before it is even available to the public to try is silly. As far as I'm concerned it's a remarkable piece of technology.

The thing is though, I don't have a smart TV, I do have Comcast, and I have a separate BluRay player. Combining all of these with the ease of use that will be the Xbox One and Smart glass app is what I'm looking forward too. Add in the fact that I use HBO Go and Netflix all the time and Xbox just does those better then Playstation. I'm sick of using a controller to find what I want on Netflix. The combination of Smart glass and the addition of hand gestures and voice commands will be a great addition in my eyes. I think the infrastructure and resources available is definitely favoring Microsoft. Microsofts existence is tied to the "cloud." Azure created over 1 billion in revenue last year. This is a fully functioning system and to have a piece of that in my living room is exciting.

The games I used were only an example to show that the games Sony offers through Plus just aren't what I'm looking for. Thus that's not really a positive feature in my eye. All of this is just my opinion though. I could be completely wrong on 1000 different things, and theres nothing wrong with that. If you guys want the PS4 thats completely fine. I can totally see why. I'm just stating how I feel and thats it. I'm not trying to stir the pot. Just trying to bring my own view to the table to have a respectable conversation.

If they are going for that price after launch, I'll be selling my pre-ordered one and waiting until it comes back in stock to get one for myself.

The same analyst also believed that there would be Intel processors in the Xbox One and that it would cost $400. The guy has been hilariously wrong before and the only things he's got right over the years were dead obvious observations like how the 3G version of the Vita wouldn't be popular.

The only safe bet any "analyst" can or should be making right now is that both consoles will be in high demand and short supply over the holidays. Not everyone who wants one will get one, blah, blah the usual launch window stories. It'll be a lot clearer how both the new consoles are doing once we move into spring/summer and the supplies are solid, defects are known, and people actually get past the "holy f- new sh*t!" phase.

Probably wishful thinking for anyone expecting they won't. Early adopters arent the most price concious bunch.
