    Re: Xbox One

Right now the biggest issue MS needs to be flexible on is the amount of time someone can still game on their XB-1 if they lose internet connection. 24 hrs isn't an long enough option.

That is $60 a year for PSPlus. Doesn't MS charge the same for a better service? Your argument about the reason for buying a game system is your opinion. For me it makes no sense why you wouldn't want it to do as many cool things as possible.

For some people the "cool" things are unnecessary. I don't need nor want it to be my multimedia hub. Different strokes for different folks.

How about this...why don't we stop comparing consoles and just talk X1 features or X1 games in this thread? It's been page upon page of back and forth comparisons, debates and arguments. Some people like the X1 and some don't. I'm getting a PS4 but I do like some of the X1 features. I can love my console without hating yours. I can love your console without comparing to mine. So lets move on past a discussion that is going nowhere but nasty.

One of the better articles I have read describing what Microsoft is trying to do with the One.

I read that article last night and I'm definitely in favor of a Steam-like ecosystem for consoles. The problem at this point is that we are getting a lot of restrictions without the benefit of lower prices. It's a tricky equation. The publishers/platform holders don't want to piss off the retailers, so they don't undercut them with lower digital download prices. Without the lower prices, what's the incentive to buy more restricted digital content?

Exactly. There is no guarantee that we will see Steam like prices. **** we arent even seeing lower direct download prices at this point.

Yes, you cannot play it for more than 24 hrs. After the first day, you cant play games on it.

Yup, assuming you cant tether to a phone or something for the synch you're hosed.

If you can make it work, the nice side effect is you will have every installed game with you, no discs need to make the trip.

I think one thing everyone can agree on is that M$ really isn't doing themselves any favors right now by not being clear with the details. You would figure they would be at this point, especially with presales.

I totally agree with you. I think what is in MS Favor is they still have a little less than 5 months til launch to clear up their message.

I wouldn't necessarily say Live is a better service than PS+, at the moment, they are 2 different services. Right now, Live is for a good online multiplayer experience and access to Netflix, MLB.tv, etc. PS+ is for downloading free games and discounts on digital content.
