Re: Xbox One
To add on, you can watch Netflix, Hulu, other multimedia options with the free version of Playstation Plus. You do not need to pay Sony to watch Netflix like you currently do with Xbox Live
Xbox Live did not give you free retail games(like the PS3 has been doing for the past several years), until just this past week. And even now, they only do it one game at a time.
The only advantage Live add over PSN was that the multiplayer was generally more stable and that it had cross game party chat while PSN did not. That was it.Comment

Re: Xbox One
It just is, that's the reason I've always been willing to pay my money for the service. I have a full friends list and the most gamers I've met online were through XBL.
Absolutely superior in every way. It's probably the deciding factor (the social aspect) that I'm picking up my XBone before I get my hands on a PS4 although I'm absolutely going to own both consoles just as I do currently (360 & PS3).Comment

Re: Xbox One
Ok guys... Just a thought. My Cell Phone has the ability to become a hot spot for WiFi internet with my cellphone contract its free. So for those of u that travel, int goes out, at grandmas, etc or whatever if the X1 can connect to my cell phone wifi just for the check in that would be cool to continue gaming if i cant connect to the internet from my house(if it goes out) or if im not homeComment

Re: Xbox One
Xbox Live will be allowing you to download two free games every month going forward. Now obviously these are games that they're putting up so it won't be Madden 25 or anything like that. These games will be yours though and even if you cancel Live you'll be able to keep them. Live does offer discounts as well. Within the media pages for games they have discounts of the week that offer great deals. They also offer smaller discounts on older content.Last edited by Dispatch; 06-14-2013, 11:52 AM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Both systems are seemingly going to be nice. My main concern is the actual online gaming with PSN and download speeds.
If they've improved there then sweetJoshua:

Re: Xbox One
I think it will have too now that it will be a mandatory paid service. People always like to compare PS+ and Live but up until the New-Gen release, it's an unfair comparison. They're not the same thing right now. PS+ at the moment is just an additional service that PS Users can for to get Free DLC, Free Games and Better PS Offers. Live is used for actual gameplay. One is a subscription (PS+) and the other is a service (Live). Which is why I think it's dumb for anyone to argue which is better. We'll find out which is better when both are operating as a subscription and service.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I read that article last night and I'm definitely in favor of a Steam-like ecosystem for consoles. The problem at this point is that we are getting a lot of restrictions without the benefit of lower prices. It's a tricky equation. The publishers/platform holders don't want to piss off the retailers, so they don't undercut them with lower digital download prices. Without the lower prices, what's the incentive to buy more restricted digital content?
That's what it would seem like they are banking on to me. Someone has to step up to the plate and be that game company though. Not sure when that will happen, but I think it could at some point. Or Microsoft themselves could make a rather big game that is only download only, but at a lower price point when released. Something like that has to spark the system, because you won't see those benefits with physical discs still around.
Hell, right now you can pre-order the CPU download version of NBA 2K14 for half the price of the 360/PS3 versions. If you could ever find a way to get that on consoles, I think people would be all over it. Just gonna take time.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I think that's a problem they knew they were going to run into. I also believe that's why they gave the publishers power to veto trade-ins as well. What they are seemingly hoping for is that some publisher does it (they'll get killed for it still), but then they lower the price of buying it digitally as opposed to running to a retailer to buy it. There's no relationship with Gamestop there really, and they would hope you'd realize that buying digitally would be saving more cash than you would buying the physical disc.
