they didn't say **** off, but they pretty much said, get a 360. which is pretty much telling those troops that want it, "we dont care about you"

I agree that Live vs PS+ isn't fair now (it will be next gen).

I do think it's comical to just say "except for temporary shutdown it's been great"...That shutdown was 24 days that people couldn't play games online.

I've had issues with download speeds in the past for PS3 updates and game downloads, but have brushed them off because I wasn't paying for them.

PSN better step it up big time if they're charging now, because now it really is "you get what you pay for"...we're paying, so provide a better service IMO.

This discussion about PSN is probably better suited for a different thread. I'll gladly move my post if I need to but my statement was hardly comical to me. I doubt you literally laughed out loud when you read it

Trust me, I was aggravated as well, but I didn't go off the deep end and sell my console and once it blew over, I forgot about it relatively fast and I'm an every day online gamer right now.

I don't see how people are so out on the PSN service or skeptical. What else is it supposed to provide for free ? The 5$ you pay for PS+ in the future will pay itself back + some with the free monthly content alone.

I sure have enjoyed all of the free crap from XBL for the $50.00 I pay just to get on some Battlefield or watch Netflix and Hulu (which I all ready pay for). It looks like they are fixing that in the future. That's good for XBOX users. People deserve more for having to pay so much.

People act like Sony doesn't know how to even run an online service because of an incident. I've even seen people on twitter question whether or not the Battlefield servers will be okay, as if that will fall on the PS4's capabilities. Call of Duty lags on the 360 and PS3. Battlefield doesn't lag because the dedicated servers. Any lag experience on the PS3 were a result of a game's specific servers or my own connection problems at the time.

I'll get off this soapbox now.

edit: FWIW, I'm on record several times on this forum mentioning how I can download things off of XBL faster than PSN for the same exact game. I'm not all gung ho about some Sony. I just think a lot of the skepticism I see, especially on Twitter is blown out of proportion.

Yeah PS+ is great. For me I simply want better speeds since we are paying for online now. That's been my only gripe with PSN.
But yeah better keep this thread to XBOX stuff lol

I agree, and kept my PS3. Just saying that whereas before you were paying 50 bucks for bonuses, now you're paying 50 bucks for access to online gaming as well.

I would expect consistent and quality uptime and download speeds from a service I'm required to pay for. Everyone gave Sony a crazy amount of slack on these forums with regards to PSN because it was free. Now that we are required to pay for online games I don't think it's out of line to expect quality service in that regard.

It would just suck when I'd be downloading DC Universe Online and I'd have to come back like 4 hours later whereas games on Xbox Live would download way faster.

Xbox Live has been pretty amazing for me, so now I'll expect that out of PSN since we have to pay.

Call me crazy, but I just called my local Best Buy to pre-order my Xbox One and I asked the lady (she didn't seem too in touch with the gaming world) what day this would be released and she told me "November 1st". Not saying I completely agree/believe with what she said but it seems like a reasonable day considering it is the xbox ONE and Amazon had Call of Duty Ghosts available November 5th.... Take it for what its worth I guess...

I've always been a big Xbox person, but I am seriously considering going over to the PS4. It's just been a lot more impressive than the Xbox One.
