    Re: Xbox One

I don't think they were trying to get one over on us. They were allowing us to play are games without the disc. To ensure people were not just passing the game around to everyone to install they had to implement some type of verification system and that's where the check in came in. Problem is there are still so many areas without stable internet. My consoles are always connected wouldn't have been a big deal for me personally. The system was ahead of its time. Mandatory Kinect wasn't a big deal. They weren't forcing us to use it, it just had to be connected. OK whatever hook it up and pretend its not there. Hopefully we get the sharing feature back for digital games. Allowing 10 people to access your library was a great idea. Microsoft's problem was they did a terrible job on selling us on the benefits of the original policies. It had great benefits. For a person with stable internet the original policies made the console more feature packed than it is now. With that said they brought this on themselves with bad PR. Failed to deliver their message.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

I'm really interested to see how the casual audience responds after release. They will be oblivious to the whole DRM fiasco, but that $100 price difference could be huge. I'm glad that MS is in a position where they have to prove themselves, again. I'm leaning toward Xbox One, but I'm not 100% sold, yet.

Nah. I look at the facts. If people didnt complain and preorders werent lower than expected, we would have an XBOX 1 that is always on, kinect always connected and no used games. You should be thanking all the people and press who bitched about those "features" and improved the One instead of making ridiculous statements about "people doubting Microsoft"

I own a 360 and will eventually buy a One once I finish all of my 360 games so I love the Xbox product. But im not blind enough to act as if MS wasnt attempting to screw over consumers with its initial plans.

Xbox One Dev: Xbox One Has As Many Pre-Order Sales As PS4

When I saw reports of Sony having a million or 1.5 million pre-orders for the PS4, I didn't even think twice about it. We're not disclosing pre-order numbers at the moment for accounting reasons but I know for a fact we have just as many. Don't be bogged by published statistics. At the end of all this, what matters is the games you want to play. Which games will people go back to over and over. Go with that. Look at the list of exclusive launch titles for each console.

I'm quite curious how Microsoft will put consoles on shelves at launch day given that almost every console we made and will make until launch are accounted for.

Pre-Orders totals don't mean too much right now, in my opinion. Hell, I currently have *two PS4's and 1 XBox 1 ordered. There's about a 95% chance that I'm only getting one (still haven't made my mind up yet). I'm sure I'm not the only one.

*I have two PS4's ordered because I thought I was going to lose my Amazon Launch Day console due to a billing issue, so I pre-ordered one from Best Buy too.

agree, I think pre-order totals mean noting, cause like yourself,. many just pre-order just to hold a spot for there choice, I'm gathering when many make up the final decision, one or the other will be cancelled, accept for the gamers who are getting both.

That quote doesnt make sense though. The dev says they arent releasing the pre order numbers for accounting reasons (which Sony is doing either) so how does he know what Sony's preorder numbers are?

Preorder numbers matter. Most people dont preorder two consoles. Shoot, even at OS where there are nothing but gamers, most people have only preordered one console. With that said, the preorder numbers dont mean everything.

Bottomline is both consoles will sell well.

For anyone that pre ordered through Bestbuy I sent a email to the district manager and received a response. It wasnt from him though guess it was someone on his team. I asked what the process for midnight launch would be and how would they ensure pre order customers are taken care of and not having their consoles taken by walk in customers. I feel more confident after the response.

"We will have a process setup on launch day and will guarantee that all pre order customers are priority. Walk in customers will only have access to available units that are not reserved for pre orders.

                          Hope this answers the question.

                          Have a great day!"

And the online experience is better. This is coming from someone that owns both 360 and ps3..

I believe their point is that Xbox Live has been better than PSN on PS3 for a while. PSN made strides near the end, but even diehard PS3 people usually agree that Xbox Live provided a better service (because you paid for it). I don't think this is a "fanboy" based opinion.

Not many people here have played either yet, yet they've made decisions...I think you need to chill a bit. Nearly all feelings on this are based on impressions and info people read....

I'm not saying either's right, and PSN on PS4 could end up being way way better...Just based on current gen I'd side with Live over PSN personally.
